Well nothing to do with my career!

Just remember the Mustang uses a LOT less fuel than many SUV's and trucks so is already actually better! Saving a bit more with stop start is a bonus. I'm not so insecure I need to sit listening to a V8 burning fuel for no reason.
I don’t mind that you aren’t if you don’t mind that I am. I’ve evidently been plagued with insecurity my entire life and never knew it until now.

OMG that old chestnut

No, you are just luddites

Next you will be moaning about being insulted ...........

Then you will be saying you don't care what other people think ......

Playbook No.1
Uh-oh. Houston, we have a problem! What if you really don’t care what other people think?

I assume that comment was made in jest but if one reads all the relevant messages in this thread and thinks about it a bit, well maybe…

Sensibilities are often age and regionally influenced. Just a part of human nature.
Yes, it was in jest...but you have to admit that adding a "start stop system" to a performance vehicle doesn't really make sense...I doubt seriously that anyone with a GT is worried about gas mileage, right?

Bottom line is most engine wear is on startup oil pressure dropping to 0. 10 times per drive!. There is no way in hell that's good for your engine, starter, or battery. I am protecting my investment over a dollar in gas.
I agree completely.

At least one does! As mentioned the GT is considerably better mpg than most trucks and SUV's so perfectly sensible to prefer the GT with stop start to save fuel!

Porsche have it on the 911 which is considerably sportier than the Mustang.

As I have said many times, turn it off if you don't like it, but it is ONLY for personal preference, all the data supports it's fitment.

But why as the consumer do we not have a choice? Disable an undesired function? Why is the setting persistent if not ‘forced’?

Once you decide to buy a Mustang and you own it, you do have a choice. You can change the rims, get stickier tires, make the exhaust note different,,,,,,a myriad of things. Same with the auto start stop. For less than switching air boxes you could have an A.S.S. eliminator installed.

That’s akin to purchasing a car with ‘square’ tires and having to buy rounds before it’s any good.

is the ‘function’ considered an ‘emission’ equipment, illegal to modify?

So predictable - standard insults over and over again. You forgot to say I should drive a Prius and wear pink underwear.

You do realise your playbook responses make you look mighty silly :giggle:
