Never take a nice Mustang to stupid places like shopping malls or exposed places! I take it to good friends places and hoodlum-free places! I’ll take my ole jeep wherever I go where crazies are! That’s it!
But but but, crazies are everywhere nowadays... ;-)

Besides, a gun is a cute little thing if you plan on sleeping in your car but otherwise it's useless.

Many cars are stolen when you park at shopping malls. Usually as soon as they see you leave.
Or at night while you sleep.
It's a mostly tongue in cheek comment, bro. No need to overthink it ...

Never heard of a gun being labeled "cute".
When they were younger, we always took the kids to Florida after Easter every year to visit my folks. The wife would fill their Easter baskets with the usual candy and other Easter stuff, but always included a new bathing suit, sunglasses, and flip flops. Every year.

When COVID shut everything down that first year of the plandemic, our Easter travel plans got derailed because the airlines cancelled all the flights.

So instead of finding a bathing suit, sunglasses, and flip flops in her Easter basket, my 16-year-old daughter found this:

I don't know about you, but I might describe it as "cute" ... :giggle:

So what are your thoughts on anti theft devices?
I'm most interested and intrigued by Ravelco device. Does anyone have this and what are your thoughts?
A battery kill switch could effect the electronics and always being reset.
I read a kill switch connected to the fuel pump is a good alternative if you creatively hide the switch. The engine will turn over, but never start and deter thief.

Can LoJack really help anti theft and is it worth the cost to maintain?

I'm not a fan of steering wheel locks or bars. A portable saws all would eliminate those.

Curious what people are using these days. Thank you!
I lock it. Put keys in ferity box, plus the most comments I get about my security system is about my road partner Dennis my 120lb European Doberman. Have come back to the car and had people say they would never steal my car with him in it lol.

Is the Security Package only available with the _01A-equipped Premium Mustangs?

I just purchased a 2024 F150 Lariat with the 502A High package and it has this feature I had no idea existed. I wonder if it will be coming to the Mustangs. It also disables the ability to do a factory reset on the car unless you grant permission through the Ford Pass App.

I hope that’s rolled out across the lineup. In urban areas where the non casual thieves hang out, the typical truck theft is - cut the horn wire, pull the driver’s door handle back, twist the lock cylinder, hook up the electronics to the obd2 port, power on, once sync is booted, navigate to settings, hit master reset, confirm. That’s it, no more tracking via sync.

Now they can take their sweet time to get to a safe-ish location.
The sync master reset can be done by anyone once it’s on with no verification so this would be a nice, and long overdue update.

We've had several F-250's with pushbutton start stolen off out lot with a cloned fob. One of them was gone in under 5 minutes!
Ravelco is easy to defeat with a potato, cut it in half, pur the flat part over the holes and smack it with the heel of your hand. The juices complete the circuit and you can proceed to whatever method you need to get it started.
We sold these at a Cadillac dealer where I worked in the '90's, and had a LEO tell us this. One of the techs tried it and it worked.
