@TcarterGT2024 ..... thank you for the reply. Did you already have the active exhaust feature on your Mustang or does your new Corsa exhaust require its own valves, actuators, wiring and controls/remote fobs

I've registered here only to update you guys - It's possible to activate AE in non-AE PCM/ECU software. I just did that as a service some time ago and after longer testing can confirm fully working solution.

It's about analyzing like 20 different types of software available per each year of the car, comparing them + possibilities and making some selection pattern, then updating software basing on original software available in car. I did only 1 at this moment and it needs more development.

You did this using FORScan only? Everything I've seen, read, and adjusted, tells me that the only way to activate the actuators is through an actual tune in the PCM using HPTuners, etc.

Ive compared almost everything between my buddy and I's car. We have the same everything except he had Active Exhaust. I changed what I could, but only had the options to see the exhaust type on the aux and IPC screens. The actuators get power through the new cables, but that only fully opens them up.

I'm not using forscan - have own reasons but yes it's manageable over standard procedures.
Please be a bit more descriptive. How did you activate the actuators? The only way I have seen is through an aftermarket tuning device that can manipulate the PCM. Simply hooking them up doesn't work, FORScan in itself doesn't work. Can you elaborate on what you did to make it work? Steps, procedures?

Which "standard procedures" are you referring to?

Are you using the ford factory scan and diagnostic tool? If so, What modules did you access and change?

As I said previously. It's not about configuration but correct software flashing basing on car parts and hardware. Each car needs to be picked correctly, sometimes it takes days worth IDA to confirm soft replacement and correct data for specific car configuration, so I can't guide you. For now I did 3 retrofits and all works flawlessly.

So basically I need to find someone with the exact car that I have except with active exhaust and then flash the PCM with their VIN specific PCM? I'm guessing you used FDRS?

I use not a public tool but this doesn't matter. If you flash correct firmware to PCM it works, the problem is a number of available software (and I'm not talking about updates) - there's like 30+ different software per car year

I have active exhaust and went with Borla. ( No drone) Very nice system BUT I cant get the actuator spring thing in the proper postion to line up slotted shaft of the actuator, Its locked in a postion that doe not line up with spring. I have opened the boxs twice , tried and given up. I am running with full open valves, wired in that postion so they don't move around.
Anyone out there have way to deal with actuator that turns spring that turns the valves? I do love the sound but there are times to be a little less loud.
