I've tried searching through the previous threads, and could not find the specific difference between the GT and Dark Horse exhaust. I think the only difference is the size of the exhaust tips (4" on GT, 5" on DH), was hoping someone could verify.

I see lots of vendors carry the GT quad tip rear valance, but haven't seen the DH rear valance.

Thanks in advance.

The DH valance is different because of the coolers and aero design, as well as the tip size. I'm not sure what the part number for it is, but I do recall there being a thread and a google sheet with the part numbers for the s650. The exhaust system itself is also different due to the orientation of the hangers I believe. If you look up the Borla system for the dark horse vs the GT, you can see the hangers right before the muffler are oriented differently. This could just be cosmetic, but I can't 100% confirm. I do know that a lot of GT catback exhausts do not fit on the Dark Horse. I've verified this directly by emailing many different exhaust companies and all of them saying that exact thing. Of course, if you can find an exhaust shop that will cut up some stuff and weld new hangers, it very well may work. But from what the companies have told me, the catbacks for the s650 GT do not fit on the s650 Dark horse. I am not sure about the opposite (Dark Horse catback on a GT), i assume it would work with the DH valance. First pic dark horse, second pic GT. Ford Performance Exhaust systems do come with the DH Valance, so might be worth checking those out

the Dark Horse, like the S550 Mach 1 and GT500, have a different layout for the exhaust tips that makes them lower and gives them room to be bigger. if the diffuser from a Dark Horse is put on a GT, there should be no fitment issues. however, putting a GT diffuser and exhaust on the Dark Horse may cause clearance issues with the differential cooler, but i dont know for 100% sure

Thank you both for responding!

Sounds like it is easier to change a GT without AE to a quad tip than it would be to change a GT with AE to a DH setup.

Non ave gt-quad= exhaust instalation and cutting the stock rear valence

Ave GT - DH= replace valence and exhaust.

All depends on what you want really.

For reference, Ford Performance kits offer the DH rear valence with the quad 5" tip kit

Thanks so much!!!

I have seen the quad tip valance for sale at @LethalPerformance and other vendors, haven't seen the Dark Horse valance as a standalone.

I prefer the Borla Exhaust over the Ford by Borla, and wouldn't mind the 5" tips.
