Yes, altitude can make a 'uge difference as can humidity and temperature, You may feel your car is "crisper" and it may be - but - I'd bet serious money no one on this forum can detect a 6 HP difference on a 480HP engine. We had owners who we adjusted say a 383 from 400Hp down to 390HP to settle it down and no one ever noticed that or a 502 from 490HP to 480HP and never heard about that either. But, if it feels faster.......

The temps. Are much lower this morning so that might be interesting in how the engine reacts, or not. Havent owned the car in cool weather. Damned cell phone keyboard, LOL!

I drove to working this morning in normal mode with track exhaust on. Temps are starting to fall here so it was crisp 85⁰ weather lol.

I will say there MIGHT be something to the throttle input with AE set to track. There did seem to be slightly less lag under low throttle inputs with a little better response. I wouldn't say it was huge difference though. I still think gearing, ambient temps, amd humidy are factors. But maybe @Starship Enterprise isn't crazy after all. 🤪

Ryan agreed with me? 😳 Well, looky…. there’s an open seat at the cool kid’s table. :sunglasses:

But you’re wrong on one thing….I’m nuttier than squirrel shit…. But I put up a good front.…lol.

But seriously, I also wouldn’t say there is a huge difference in track exhaust, but there just isn’t that fraction of a second of hesitation when I accelerate from a full stop as opposed to other exhaust settings.

But a cooler day will make a dramatic difference, so in all fairness it could just be your cooler weather. You would need to run back to back comparisons on the same day. Normal Exhaust vs. Track.

There’s also the adaptive memory to how you drive. If you are stuck in traffic a lot over a somewhat long period, then try to open it up when you have a chance it would shift differently than if you always drove it like you stole it.

This is also a good time of year to remind you all that for every 10˚ drop in temps, your tire loses 1 lb of air. So yes, if you go from 90˚ to 50˚, you absolutely lost 4 lbs of air in your tires.

I just got home from a round trip of about 900 miles and played with the Track AE mode comparing it to Sport AE mode and what I know for sure is that on my car, there is a little difference in how the car responds. That settles it with me because I had all day to mess with it.

Now my car has around 4500 miles on it and it is a completely different car than when I first got it. Someone on this forum mentioned that these cars can complete the "break in" at around 5K miles. Well, that happened also and very noticeably. On my last tank of 93 gas, it was mostly two lane with some passing of the idiots as necessary and the car will just launch itself better now. It definitely runs better after a long highway trip and it has used zero oil so far which I like. Supper time.

I think you're right. Mine's just coming up to 5000kms and feels livelier already.

Even if I flip my collar up and tie a sweater around my neck?

Bribe you with a juice box? It even comes with a sippy straw! A sippy straw!!!

Yeah....nah.
Any rum in the Juicy Juice? A dash of Sailor Jerry Sour Apple rum would be a perfect pairing.
PS. Plastic straws are killing the planet.
So I'm told, repeatedly.

Perhaps it’s the automatic or perhaps it’s placebo. I just hit 3k miles on mine and I can detect no differences Between sport and track exhaust settings. I keep the drive mode in sport and in there track and sport exhaust drive the same. Only the noise and excitement change from the louder exhaust.

I keep mine set to track exhaust with the favorite button set to quiet mode so I can be polite with a single click and right back to the glorious rumble with another.

I’m to the point of not being sure what I’m sure of. The more I know, the more I know what I don’t know.

I do know LouG is secretly a cool kid, just trying to be cool about it. :sunglasses:

Fuck guys, let me just settle this right now. Yes track/drag mode exhaust is open 100% of the time. Pedal demand or RPM, it doesnt matter. Sport mode is not open all the time like track/drag. Time for the proof so we can put this shit to bed.

Here are the two tables and the table references so you can see. 1.00 means 100% open. Less than 1.00 means partially closed percentages.

Yes! Proper data. first two tables are intuitive and simple. But what the hell is that third table showing?

What the hell do you mean? Thats the reference for the modes for those two tables. Table 3 is the sport table on the left and table 4 is the track table on the right.
