I thought we covered this entirely in another thread, and it was shown that Sport and Track are not the same exhaust settings.

Also, while 3db is technically a doubling of "power," the human ear does not perceive 3dB as doubling in volume. Acoustic energy doubles, but it takes about 10dB for the brain to say, "Yeah, that sound is about twice as loud, dude."

So Track Mode is louder than Sport Mode, perceptibly so, with twice the acoustic energy when objectively measured, but you brain is going to perceive it as louder, although not twice as loud. Even Normal to Track is not going to be perceived as twice as loud, even though the acoustic energy is coming close to doubling a second time.

You should post the link to your other thread and continue that discussion. I'm too lazy to search for it. 😉

I'm sure louder exhaust makes it feel sportier, but I wouldn't trust that it actually is. Vacuum cleaners are designed to be noisy because people perceive that as being more powerful.
Well, sure. But with exhaust there often is SOME correlation. These setups with active exhaust are advertised at being between 480 and 486 depending on what the exhaust is set to. so....

As mentioned in the other thread, track exhaust is fully open 100% of the time, where as the other modes open and close to varying degrees based on throttle input and RPM.

It stands to reason that the trottle may feel a little snappier in track exhaust because of this. I personally don't notice a difference. But it's not unreasonable that someone might under certain conditions. I would think that intake temperatures would have a major impact.

Since I bought the car, I have yet to experience a day under 80˚ and humid without running the A/C.

Looking forward to cooler weather so see how the car runs then….

This is my first day below 80 since I bought mine. It’s in the garage, I hope.

Track mode throttle input is LESS aggressive than sport. Track mode is meant for road course racing when you need smoother and less “tip in” throttle response to not break traction coming out of turns. Exhaust decibels to me sound the same in both modes

Is that verified? Im curious to know if that actually happens, opens different amounts at certain RPM ?? That's wild! This car has so many bells whistles, im not used to all them yet.

We are talking about only changing the exhaust setting, not Drive setting.

Some here including myself, think just setting the exhaust to Track also advances timing or throttle response. How else does it add 6 hp?

My question did not relate to "driving mode" but rather "Active Exhaust Mode". Starship Enterprise and I are the only two Mustangs that have this phenomena apparently, LOL!

Not sure about RPM, but it does open and close based on throttle input. There was a video in @Starship Enterprise original thread on this.
