yep, every one of them. i even had to change tire size on a customer 2024 Super Duty and everything worked fine
Hmmm. Interesting.....so now there is conflicting info on this.

However, this would mean you would need to swap in a TRON enabled IPMA and then hope that FDRS authorizes it once it is installed.

if the data ia conflicting, maybe all TRON does is set a code?

Not sure. I've seen TRON get broken by OTAs. An authorization code pops up in the TCU and connectivity stops working correctly.

I'll see what I can find out and report back.

TRON does not do a part number check, so you can swap in an IPMA. As I suspected earlier, software incompatibility is going to be the biggest hurdle.

i asked some techs at work and got conflicting answers. one said it should work. one said it will cause problems. i think the only way to know for sure is to bite the bullet and try it. theory and asking can only get you so far

Agreed. When it plug into the IPMA with FORScan beta, does the IPMA show 4 or 5 strategy locations?

I looked at the as built from my car again, and compared it to the spreadsheet while trying to assist in getting @A4techpl audible alerts going.

Front Parking Aid Module Install

TLDR, 706-02-01 (IPMA) has the option to add 360, front, or side cameras. Obviously, we have confirmed we don't have the hardware in our existing IPMA to make the cameras work. Frankly, I'd be thrilled with just a front camera view.

@roket The existing rear view camera is just an LVDS cable to the IPMA, right? Would an LVDS switcher work? It would be much jankier, but you could wire it in to the IPMA as a camera feed interrupt, and add a hardware switch to manually switch the rear view feed on/off.

Front Park Sensors works fine - they turn on automatically on lower speed like in other 2021+ Fords.
Point is no sound from Front ones. Rear ones are fine.

Sounds like you are saying the display illuminates but audio isn’t triggered

Correct. So: ACM does not get info from IPMA or GWM does not forward correctly info into ACM.

Is there front cameras that can function as parking assistance? I'm interested in buying them or whatever I have to do. Major issues parking my dark horse , Scraped chin multiple times already. First time mustang driver ,first time ford owner too. Any ideas would be appreciated.. hood feels huge long like a caddy or something.. doesn't the 2025 dark horse premium have the 360 camera system or something?

some new stuff i got to find out a while ago: the Mustang's rear view camera actually plugs into the APIM, not the screen. that answers a few of my questions. additionally, 360 camera vehicles run the connector out into the APIM too. what we would need to do is run a sort of diverter cable from the rear view connector that is in the center console (it splits there) to the IPMA. we would also need to add and run the other three cameras, plus put an output cable in the brown connector that will then send the image out to the APIM. the ADAS camera doesn't need to be touched.

the biggest issue now is the unknown of whether or not a different vehicle's IPMA will be accepted into TRON. in theory, it should be fine, especially if work has already been done to change the module's VIN. however, since we need TRON in order for it to work, we are now limited to very recent versions of the IPMA, like 2024+ F-150, 2023+ Super Duty, and so on, otherwise it seems that the messages from the IPMA will go ignored because the GWM does not see it as an actual, authorized message. as mentioned before, though, this should not interfere with the actual 360 camera's use, so we can make sure things work before burning a key or two, as most or all modules can only have so many keys assigned in their life. this is also something that is restricted to FDRS, as the key requires a connection to Ford's servers to be generated and shared

super late reply, sorry, but LVDS is used from IPC to screen and APIM to screen. the camera connectors are coaxial using FAKRA and FAKRA-Mini connectors; multi-colored and keyed connectors specifically designed for automotive coaxial use
