I was holding out for a 3:55 in an automatic car thinking it would be more responsive. Am I right ?
Thanks.

marginally....... I would go for a 3.55 car over a 3.15 car.....unless......you are ever planning on forced induction...then I might be tempted to go for a 3.15 depending on more worried about track/ running slicks or more a street car .......

Theoretically.

If that were the only difference in two otherwise identical bone stock cars you might or might not be able to distinguish which was which. Depends on your experience too.

13% difference in rpms / torque. If v8 is similar in modes to my ecoboost, just change driving modes. Not sure what is available in what, but would go 3.55 if it was the convertible.

What are your plans for the car?

There's a thread about this from febuary.

I have never peeled out with the ecoboost, but take turns hard. The posi diff in the 3.15 is not agressive.

torsen diff's are nicer than most other differentials out there. If the 3.55 upgrades to a torsen, that can be a plus. But as said before 3.15's clutch pack in the posi is not agressive. Absolutely hate the one in my 2019 ram. Almost ran it off the road a few times trying to drive it like a car.....

Another reason you want the 3.55s is you can't switch out the gears with the 3.15s as you would have to switch out the carrier.

Definitely a noticeable difference. Don't get 3.15s if you aren't going supercharged. Ppl who say otherwise just messed up

3.55 are a must, the 5.0 loves gears and 3.55 also has a upgraded housing thats why its a expensive upgrade but is well worth it. Like 93-Oct Mayne said if someone says they cant tell the difference there Butt Dyno is out of whack.

I have a new 24 Premium coupe with the 10 speed auto with the 3.15s. The car had all the other options I wanted , the color I wanted and I got $5000 off the MSRP! I have zero regrets, the car rips! There are very few cars that I can’t out accelerate (except maybe another stang or C8 Vette). The 10 speed has so many low ratio gears that it accelerates very quickly! Again, no regrets here and I’ve seen close to 30 mpg on road trips at 65 mph on 87 octane. Fuel saving bonus. If you find your gotta have it mustang, I say go for it, 3.15 and all.

Is there an advantage of the 3.15 with a supercharger over the 3.55?

Yes - I have driven a few Roush equipped A10 cars with 3.55s and 1st gear is completely useless on the street....and I mean completely.....2nd pretty much was also.....from people I have spoken with on the street on a street tire with the 3.15s......1st is still useless but at least you have a chance in second....lol

Take it to the track and put it on a tire....different story......

Yes, MPH up top.
You do not want the 10R80 shifting into 7th at WOT at higher HP levels.
3:15s prevent that from being an issue
Thanks for the answers. I am wanting a DH with an FP800S package and you cannot get 3.15 gears on a DH only 3.55 and 3.73.
