what gear do people normally dyno in?
I thought you wanted 1:1 for that. Not for drag racing evidently.
For the A10 you dyno in 6th because 7 which is 1-1 bounces off the speed limiter.

A lot of shops dyno in 6th, 7th will give a higher readout for sure.
Dyno is a little different as you’re applying power in 7th and winding it out, vs full power in 6th ripping into 7th

I was holding out for a 3:55 in an automatic car thinking it would be more responsive. Am I right ?
Thanks.
Yes. To generalize, the 3.55 torsen setup is better in mid-range driving, cornering, et cetera. The 3.15 setup is the better highway cruiser (fuel economy) and for building top-end power if you're chasing forced induction on the 5.0.

@Herkchief ..... agree and depending on the ordering forms I saw options you might select also determine what ratio you can choose. I too have a 2024 GT Premium (convertible) with the 10R80. It rips and, to his horror, smokes my buddies older 'vette. He has a four speed auto and I bus lane him as my 10R80 has shifted three times before he's out of first. Ha Ha. Watch the videos of 10R80 stangs smoking manuals - even Mustang manuals. Smokes them. Further, if you watch the video of 2000HP Mustang beating Lambos you'll see the guys at TRC (that racing channel) discussing the 10R80 and its cousin the macdaddy with J at RSA (Race solutions America). Love the 10R80.

Not going to boost or tune (once available) my car, though I need more responsiveness in the 0-60mph range.

Mine has 3.15, can I get a Ford dealer to switch to 3.55 or 3.73 and maintain the warranty? I'm aware it's not an easy switch. Any ideas and price range I'm lookin at?

I know the car wakes up higher in the RPM's though I need more getting there. So far nothing on the market seems worth it, CAI does nothing. I believe I am looking for more torque, any suggestions?

Oh it’s gonna be 2K or more for a dealer to switch out rear units. I think the parts alone are 1200ish

@JAM486HP ..... I'm really late to this party but I bet you haven't switched ratios as you have found out by now that the 2024 GT pulls straight all the way from zero on. The 2024 GT 5.0 is one of the truest x/y straight line pullers ever. Middleton Motor Sports posted a great video of Dyno pulls with one of the first 2024 Mustang 5.0s available. It shows the remarkable power band of this engine. Kudos to Ford!
