Some of you know, Im a tuner. And I have owned 5 now of these S650s. Building tunes and testing for the last year. I've owned, tested and tuned all the major kits except the Roush kit. So with my new 26 GT I have, I decided to try it out.

One thing to note, the roush has a bad rep from the previous gen blowers being the old Eaton Roots style. They heat soak and are generally inferior to all other PD style blowers from the last few years.

Well this newest version is based off the Magnusson 2650 rotor pack/cooling brick design. Its a TVS blower, not roots. Its far more effecient than what you would have gotten before. The case design, the cooling bricks size and placement. Its right on par with the Whipple 3.0.

The 2650 TVS blower Roush now uses is very similar to the LT4 Magnuson 2650 that everyone loves on that platform. Its known for better than stock tq down low like a PD blower, but pulls harder up top like a centrifugal blower.

And having one now on Roush's tune, I can tell you this is still the case. It has a bit more punch than the G3 ESS blower my last 2025 had, but it pulls harder than the whipple 3.0 I also had...lol. These are all seat of the pants feelings, but I seem to have found a sweet spot.

The point of getting this was to create custom tunes for it to sell like I have for all the other kits, but also have something I can enjoy as well. I dont feel the need to sell this car as quickly once I have all my tuning complete.

But for what I feel the roush tune is pretty darn good. Shifts nice, drives nice and pulls hard to basically the stock shift points. I will be putting in all my quality of life changes and also leaning it out/turning it up a bit spark wise. There are always lots that can be done over these OEM calibrations.

Here is what she looks like. Completely stock with just the kit installed.

60-130 draggy numbers don’t lie. Many stage 2 Whipple cars are easily into the mid to low 5’s with stock cats and a boost a pump with e30 on the stock stage 2 Whipple tune.

I have catless headers and full exhaust and running a custom full e85 tune to do those numbers on a 10r80 car with drag radials. I did upgrade to a dual pump and ID 1050’s as well.

The Whipple is superior performance wise.

My car also heat soaks at the drag strip and only 2 out of 10 1/4 mile passes have I not has the throttle blades closing at the 1000’. On the 2 runs that allowed me to run all out the full 1320 I trapped 141 and 142 mph.

You don’t know if your whipple is superior. Also realize the 2650 is a 2.65L not a 3.0L like the whipple. Another data point is how conservative the roush tune is and how few of them are out there. Just wait.

Sounded like you had a whipple
I love my car and the Roush setup. It’s not what everyone is doing which is my personality. It may be the only RTR in the world with a Roush ‘Launch Edition’.

With that said in my experience it takes a lot more parts and money to get the Roush up to the max internal safety of the Gen 4 Coyote than using a Whipple. It also creates more heat which will require additional cooling solutions depending on use case.

As I said above I’m already dealing with heat soak issues at the drag strip on 80 degree days with 850 whp.

Very attractive looking SC, and I really like that they retained the dual TBs and are compatible with the OEM intake. Bet it would really look sharp with a pair of those Corsa CF intake tubes! Thanks for the thread and pics! 👍

FYI the vmp carbon fiber brase is a floppy pos
It adds no structural rigidity
Curious what tire you’re running on your Mustang as most street tires lack the available grip to make any noticeable difference to the camber during heavy cornering. So your point is null.

This part is for looks anyways.

Awesome, they look pretty cool 👍, someone was saying something about 60-130 but I didn’t see the numbers, what’d it do?

I followed brenspeed do a few at launch and I think even cracked 9.9X but it’s been crickets since for a few years

My best stage 2 on Nitto G2 garbage was 7.0 seconds 60-130.

My best with fuel system, 78 mm pulley, custom e85 tune and full exhaust is 5.4 60-130.
