Why people run good cars through car washes is beyond me. Some things, I am truly dumb about. That's one of them.

I agree with others in that Ford seems to have issues with water leaks. My 03 GT vert had one. Behind passenger seat the carpet would get wet after rain. Turned out to be gaps in seam sealer between floor pans and frame. I guess the robot ran low on seam sealer when my car was being manufactured.

The '12 GT I had leaked in the passenger floorboard because under/inside the cowl area the rubber boot was literally installed backwards facing up.
The drain boot was facing up.... So I felt around in the dark with my hand and put it in properly. Never leaked again.

Will this make my 2024 easier to sell between now and Q 1 2026?
I'm thinking of selling for another adventure...
The recall also affects the 24's. Glenn

I understand that my 2024 is involved in a recall. Since I am a private seller, can I sell my car to a private individual at this point with an outstanding recall/stop sale/order. Can I trade in my car?

Private party yes, up to the buyer. Trade probably not or at minimum will take a lot of convincing since a manufactures stop sale. Same would apply even if it was/is a do not drive recall.

I’ve got both. I’ll never get out of Recall Jail!
I’m in the Recall Jail. Purchased a 25 Dark Horse. Drive it home and got the call about the Diode recall. Took it back to the dealership then the BCM recall hit. My car has been at the dealership for a month and a half. Bought the car outright and only got to drive it 42 miles. Now the BCM recall. I’m about to let the dealership buy it back. About tired of waiting.
What would you do? Wait or sell it back?

Defiinitely sell it back. No way I would tie up that much money for a car I couldn't drive. Of course I'm talking about a cash buy which is the way I buy cars.

if you already took delivery of it they cannot hold it for the recall involuntarily. Go pick it up

I took the vehicle back to the dealer 24 hours after I paid cash for it. They had snd still have the vehicle for 2 safety recalls. One was the failing lights diode issue and the BCM issue. The lighting issue has been resolved but the BCM issue is still outstanding. I cannot get the car back until it is resolved due to the safety issue. All of the internet and ford.com say first quarter 2026 but the dealership is saying they have received advanced notification that it is only an inspection that is needed. They are waiting on the procedures from Ford to do it and then it can be given back to me. It could be any day, any week or month. Waiting to see. I figure I will give them another week and then make my decision as they mentioned the 15th and 29th of this month for answers. I’ve already gotten one so another week, I can handle.

I understand but my point is they cannot hold it once it is delivered to you. They can sell a used one with the recall. The stop sale is only on new, in stock units. IF you just took delivery (after 8/25/25) then they violated the stop sale by delivering it to you in the first place. Pretty stiff fines around 10K per incident for that.

Not my business but if it were me, I would have my money back. They took an expensive asset from you.

Wait til everyone screams about the brake rotors being rusted junk from sitting outside for months, to say nothing about paint contamination and lot damage.

I had a customer in for a NH state inspection 2 weeks ago, her Kia had been at the dealer for 2 months waiting for a warranty engine replacement

The rotors were garbage from rust caused by sitting. ceramic pads will not self clean rotors so I rejected the car and Kia ended up paying for a 4 wheel brake job in addition to the engine.

No. They did it right. I took delivery 24 hours before the first recall hit. I took it straight back when they called me.

I’m having trouble processing this. You took delivery of the car. They cannot hold it. You can pick up the car and take it back when they have the inspection procedure. I’ve had my car since May, and no effing way can a dealer take my car back and hold it until they figure out what to do.
