I keep a copy of these handy facts, but the truth is, they're sorely lacking! For example, they don't list the cam timing, overlap, lift, etc. The question is, do we care? I do, and finding that specific data is sorely lacking.

I remember my 1986 Merkur's owner's manual. It had the cam timing, and it even listed the spring and roll bar rates! Heck nowadays, we have to pay a subscription fee for other than what's listed in the document you referred to! We are diminished!

does anyone else think the 10 speed on the DH ratios are just a rounding error seems way to close to be different vs the GT 10 speed.

I haven't studied Ecos in detail, so IDK if the engine design changed from 2024 onward.

For previous Model Years, Ford Performance and aftermarket vendors list camshaft profiles for stock replacements, some more detailed than others. Examples follow.

https://esslingeracing.com/camshafts-6/2-0l-ecoboost-camshafts

Something I need to study is the Variable Cam Timing (VCT) solenoids, how much advance or retardation they provide, and, the spark timing profile.

Regarding subscriptions, the Ford website allows unlimited, 3-day access, for $30.

Once paid, the receiver can download as many files possible. I compiled a list of topics I was interested in beforehand. Once those were gathered, I blocked time, downloading information on powertrain, electrical, electronics, etc.

Finally, eBay. While Ford has moved to electronic files for brochures, dealer marketing materials, promotion and sales guides are often available for sale. Magazines by the pile. While not detailed in the technical, anyone wanting to setup a fact book or vehicle history binder might find some nice pieces there.

Edit,

In previous times, a lot of the tech specs might have been listed because so much had to be adjusted, checked or replaced (points, spark timing, vacuum, valve lash, etc.). Now, it's either been replace by modern tech, should not be adjusted, or cannot be changed by manual means.

Skye, I'm aware of the resources available and have used them from time to time. I suspect part of the issue (with Ford et.al.) is based on a profit motive. Twenty-five years ago the data we're talking about was readily available for free! These days, they've replaced printing costs with on-line (web development) costs, but however you look at it, it is the enthusiast-consumer who's paying more and more for data which used to be free. Whatever the case, I feel there is an inequity in all of this.

Following up on this topic...

Is there an EcoBoost tech reference, similar to the Coyote ones, linked below?

https://www.cjponyparts.com/media/i...fB5Xl9hKVMJqfx3gSo3VuHtXcAwwWrkMfntDOYt5AhFBj

https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/pdfs/Gen_2_Coyote_Technical_Reference_2-16.pdf

I couldn't find anything yesterday, so I reached out to Ford Performance; they've never seen an EcoBoost one either.

Will they produce one for the Gen4 Coyote? While not presently available, Ford Performance, "Would not be surprised if they do create one."

Ford stopped making physical customer take-home sales brochures IDK how many years ago. While not detailed in technical information, they were a great keepsake. In 2022, Ford stopped producing the digital product.
