I honestly wouldn't complain if something like this was developed.... Follow Dodge in making a one size fits all "sedan" that can be either 2 or 4 door (hasn't been shown yet for dodge but likely will be the case) with a "hatch" for more usability. This is the only way I see the mustang living...
They likely have yet to finalize the base interior materials/options which is why we have no official pictures. Personally, I think the separate screens look better then the fake one piece glass with two displays...
Vapor blue looks to be Area 51 with metal flake added. Area 51 is not a metallic color where vapor blue has a metallic quality based off of the color sample pictures.
The platform certainly isn’t equipped for traditional AWD but the rumor was that it was going to be electrified with two electric motors mounted to the oil pan of the V8 powering the front wheels.
2025 was also the rumored release of that AWD hybrid. Maybe the GT500 was slated to get that powertrain as a replacement for the predator. With the recent rumors stating that it was canceled though, maybe the 500 is going to go with a more traditional supercharged coyote (5.4 perhaps?).
Well…. I can find elements of the S650 I like, that Area 51 shot is awesome looking to me. Like the steering wheel, center console, hate the dash…. I like the concept of a driver oriented cockpit, dislike how they removed the double brow dash to do it. I absolutely HATE the rear… Looks like a...
They could have just altered the firing order. Going back to the original mod motor firing order would give it a deeper/classic rumble as opposed to the more raspy sound we are used to from a coyote.
How about not having to change brake pads for 100-150k miles? Little to no brake dust, etc…. That real world enough?
Also, the charge rate is quite significant. What limits it is the battery’s ability to accept the energy. That’s also why if a battery is charged to near its maximum capacity...
The best you are going to get from an EV is a DCT feel. Paddle shifted transmission with very quick and precise shift feel. The Charger EV has this as evidence by the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Yea just like all of the ICE vehicles that have never had any recalls… You are still dealing with a mass produced product, you are going to have manufacturing defects that will lead to recalls. No way around that.
Feel free to never buy a new car again, the rest of the world is going to move...
I think we have been through this exact conversation before…. EV motors are simple in design. More or less two bearings and a copper coil with magnets surrounding it. No oil requirements, no tight tolerance wet bearings, no piston rings wearing the cylinder walls, etc….. The Tesla model 3’s...
IF a solution is found, Nuclear is still the way to go for mass grid applications (fusion and fission).
For vehicles, EVs still win on the simplicity and maintenance fronts and current battery limitations will be a thing of the past when solid state batteries come to market (2026 timeframe). So...
Except for the fact that it takes FAR more energy to generate hydrogen then you would get out of the combustion or consumption of it….. Yes current ICE vehicles could be made to run on hydrogen with little effort. But the generation and safe storage of hydrogen is a big issue that is yet to be...
Have you ever listened to Formula E vehicles? Electric motors are not “nearly silent” even my previous model 3 had some motor wine when you stepped on it. From what I have read, the Dodge EV uses a combo of sources INCLUDING real motor noice to create the sound. They are likely using a sound...
2028 if true IMHO is entirely to late to electrify the 2 door Mustang. As Dodge just showed last night, with a focus on performance and not strictly on efficiency, you can make an EV with “character”. This dodge EV will be out around 2024 as a MY25 vehicle. The Camaro will be gone and the...
So I’m not quite getting the HVAC complaints…. Does no one use auto climate? I set a temp and auto climate fan level in my Maverick and rarely touch the controls again…. I’m not constantly adjusting HVAC to the point where having the controls touch screen based would be an issue.
