Not too happy with where the screw is, I usually just plug them but in a car that regularly sees high speeds.. idk

My last mustang had one directly in the sidewall and it held up fine until it smashed into a camry

I would have a tire shop patch it from inside the tire. Should maintain it's original strength if you have it done correctly.

That SUCKS! Not sure if I could trust that tire on the car anymore, even with a good repair.

I agree with patching. I have had several tires that have been patch and they never gave me a problem. Fortunately the tires people I deal with have never attempted to have the tire plugged.

Tire shops won't touch it because the screw is ever so slightly angeled towards the outside of the tire

I've had a bunch of tires plugged over the years on my daily drivers. Never had an issue with any of them.

Discount tire has a display tire in their show rooms that shows a go and no go area for tire repair. That screw is in a no go area and they would not repair that tire if you brought it to them.

Yeah they said it was far enough over to patch but because it was angeled a little outward it wasn't able to be fixed. I'll just run it, it holds air as long as Temps don't go below 45 which rarely happens in Florida

I dunno. Blowouts are a good look for 1990's Cindy Crawford, not so much a Mustang tire. A tire is a lot cheaper than an accident. It sucks, but I'd swap it out.

When I first read this topic I thought what a lucky guy, then I realized it's actually a screw. 😉

Welcome to the club!
First time out heading to work, backed out of the garage, and noticed the 8psi warning on the dash.
Discount Tires fixed it for free. Bought a warranty on the tires from them, too. You can do that, even though the tires are from the dealer. Great investment. Love them!

Ouch! Your local Discount Tire location will inspect and repair the tire at no charge if repairable.

Sounds like my wife :) ONLY KIDDING. Well sort of. My wife is a magnet for getting flat tires mostly because she drives to close to the right shoulder and hits debris. I have the local mom and pop tire shop on speed dial.
