It was a corvette guy... nuff said!
I owned Corvette since 1962 and the Corvette people I know and was with would NEVER think of doing that. It isn't the car it's the person. Cars don't have ass#oles, people do. Please don't judge a person by their car, judge the person on their actions. Thank you.

Hey all,
Just wanted to let y’all know about my recent car meet which was few weeks ago here in CO. I’m not trying to make this political thing but being a person of color it’s just not right for anybody to be treated this way.
So there was a small meet up organized for a 4 year old boy who’s undergoing 3rd heart surgery so his mom posted on Facebook forums requesting anyone with a car who’s willing to show up before his surgery. So I went there at mentioned time and there were other cars few bmw, corvettes, Hondas, Supra n then came few Lamborghini. Btw I was only Mustang there. Kid was looking at other cars n he asked if he could sit in n start up car I said of course n he did few revs.. all was good n then when the event almost ended I was driving back home this corvette guy said I wasn’t WELCOME in next meet.. I’m like WTF I told him I was there for kid not for him or his meet(he wasn’t even the organizer) Just wanted to put this out there still surprised as to how people still think man🤯
He was mad because you revved - he didnt say anything about race - this has nothing to do with you being a person of color

As a person of color- stop bringing color into things where it doesnt need to be....your making us look bad

I do think the guy was a jerk for saying your not welcome without understanding the context
That being said - around here the car meets typically have VERY strict no revving rules - perhaps this one had one as well and he was an organizer?

Yeah car shows are not car cruises, area dependent, starts with revving parked cars, slippery slopes into takeovers doing donuts in the middle of busy intersections with guys hanging out the window holding up their guns

At least that’s how it goes in my neighborhood.
Don’t rev your engine at a “car show”

Missing the point here brother.. all I said was irrespective of “any race” no one should be treated this way. Also this was my first car meet I didn’t know what to expect n yes it wasn’t organized by any groups which had any rules. But thanks for your comment.

You need to watch this interview (this is just a clip).... the more you talk about race...the more it becomes an issue

You were the only Mustang owner there--plain and simple. Also saying "of color" is such last century euphemism for "colored", stop it. There were several times when I as an a person of white color was ghosted, uninvited, etc from various events. It's life, people are a-holes, and it's not always about race. So it's just silly to have Al Sharpton show up to stand up for you. Cheers!

Wow.. no where in my post I said I was discriminated by white guy (no one should be treated is all I said) there were lot of other ppl asians, Hispanic, Indians not just white none spoke anything about it that’s alright I’m not asking anyone to speak for myself.. all I asked was is this normal as that was my first car meet. Who hurt you brother for bringing AI Sharpton here. Thanks for your two cents. Anyways I hope you have great day.

Just to indicate all prior conclusions have not influenced the statement, (ok i admit saw the last one #26 but other than that nope had to skip back to op).

some folks are simply born jealous.

unfortunately, while it may be (in some circles) normal however in reality it’s not appropriate nor acceptable, but what does one do? Is one supposed to drop the weight of the burden and carry on unencumbered or use it to excuse an in-turn inappropriate response?

Sorry if I offended... There is a big difference between a Corvette owner and a Corvette "guy"... I speak from experience... I have owned a couple myself but was never part of the cliche. My dad was a Corvette guy... belonged to the club with similar guys... guys I had met or known from outside the club... every single one of them were (my dad included) *, snobs on the corvette... they would rope their cars off at open events and barely speak to you if you didn't know the language. Don't even try to show at one of their events with anything other than a corvette... even my "32 Ford show car would draw some disrespect... and it has won at open events.

Yes, I find most Corvette owners to be fine people... but there are the snobs out there. Glad you have a good crowd there. I find the old hot rod crowd here quite friendly (been a part of it for 50 years). Again, no disrespect intended!

Thanks brother appreciate it.. ppl always forget there is an option to ignore replying to every post they see with such inappropriate responses maybe they’re dealing with bigger problems god knows. Hope they get better ❤‍🩹
