I would leave as is, seeing that it acts like a press fit. I have had no issues with it loosening since the creation of this post
Assuming you left the bushings in when you installed it? Do you recall whether yours closed all the way?

Please reread my message. Yes, leave it as is. It's similar to a press fit. Tighten it and move on with your life or add some blue loctite.

It's nothing at all like a press fit, it's a clamp, lol.

BlendMount says the bushings should be removed from the clamping surfaces to ensure that it is clamped with sufficient force to ensure it won't potentially deflect/stretch over time. Strangely, they did not recommend "slapping blue loctite on it and getting on with your life".

So installed my R7 and Blend Mount today, and it went well, but had a question about the bushings inside the mounting ring. Did you remove them or leave them in? Right now they're still in but there's a 1/4" gap on the mounting ring because it won't close all the way, and although everything is tight and not moving, I can't help but wonder if more thread engagement would help reduce the likelihood of anything loosening up and/or rattling. Just curious who left theirs in and who removed theirs....

The same Blendmount works in several different vehicles. Some require the bushings to be in while others should have them removed. I'd have to look at mine, but I'm 99% sure the bushings are out. Additionally, there will always be some gap between the two halves of the clamp going around the mirror. A quarter of an inch is quite a bit though.
