There are a number of drivability changes (i hope) they are making that really makes the car feel different. The extra power is nice, but the magic is in the pedal demand and trans (10R80) changes. These cars feel lazy, and lag quite a bit when you want to giddy up and go. And in the tune, you can make some significant per mode trans and pedal demand changes that really make the car feel like you have damn near 500hp. Its quite significant actually when you drive one where the tq management has been lessened or removed, pedal/tq demand turned up, shift pressures increased, part and WOT throttle shift RPMs raised both up and down shifts. There are cooling changes you can make like forcing the grille shutters to stay open all the time, not just when the car is on the brink of overheating, as well as making the rad fan come on sooner and faster. Stock cars are set to come on at 40% fan speed at 212*. Thats insane. Only when you get to 223* engine coolant temp do you get 100% rad fan speeds. I don't doubt these mods legitimately increase both, but I'm skeptical of whether many people actually feel a difference rsther than just justifying to themselves why they spent the $ and modding something for modding's sake.

As someone who is tuned I think I can speak to this. I don't think tuned folks feel the power change, they feel the drivability change. Sure there are minor gains in the torque and horsepower realm on tune alone, but the major impacts are to throttle response, cooling behavior, transmission smoothness and shift points (if auto). So my car "feels" faster because it's more aggressive with throttle tip in and the way the transmission handles the gears. Car to car all things being equal it likely is SLIGHTLY faster than a identically equipped car, but not significantly. You’re looking at the 1:1 increase, now extend that to the multipliers and you may. Even though it’s fancy math multiplication will estimate an increase that is perceptible during lower rpm use. I see about 30 over stock on 93 tunes and close to 60 over stock on E85. Its quite significant paired with all the other changes. Acceleration feels effortless to 7800 on E85 and the car just sings well past 140 like it has a massive tail wind.I lost track, are tunes adding 30 horsepower on 93 octane? I thought it was less.
