Tire pressure sensor issue

Got new wheels and tires and TPMS from American Muscle that were advertised for mustang. Worked fine for a while and now the intermittently go out, sometimes all 4 , sometimes 1 or 2. No pattern then in a week they are working again. So is there a real answer to programming them or are they defective? None of the procedures to get the car into learning mide I've read on the internet seem to work. I bought a ford learning tool but can't get car into learning mode. Help or advice would be appreciated

This is assuming that the TPMS sensors being used are either the Ford sensors for your specific year and model car, or aftermarket sensors that have the proper programming for your specific make/model/year car.

If the sensors themselves are not programmed to 'speak' in the language that your car is capable of listening to and understanding first, nothing in the above document matters. That little $15 or $20 TPMS learning tool is not capable of doing this; and although the listing for the wheels/tires said 'Mustang', the TPMS sensors they came with may have been programmed to the S550 spec and it is possible that that is different than what the S650 requires.

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd update my $400 TMPS sensor programming tool and check to see if there are any obvious differences.

Are you using 4 new sensors, all the same brand. Or are they mixed?

The programming procedures I've seen are pretty straightforward. I think the horn honks once before the dash displays something like Train front left tire...
When complete you have to power off the ignition.

I haven't called the guys at American Muscle, but I did buy my catch can from them. You might give them a call to see if they can help.
