Yes the whipple runs more timing. I believe part of it is because of the inherent design of the whipple itself and also the cam timing it runs. There's 2 ways to increase or decrease cylinder pressure, ignition timing and or cam timing. Timing is just a number, you find out what combination of ignition/cam timing overall works best for your setup and fuel. My car only makes a peak of 10 psi so when it shifts back into the next gear it's closer to 8.5. For the overall average amount of boost it runs I feel it performs great. The centri style blower performs well with the 10 speed.

With the centri cars you just need to take overlap out through the middle and a bit at the top. Whipple does the same for theirs as well. Flatten out that midrange overlap a tad on the intake but more on the exhaust so you dont bleed off boost into the exhaust.

Overall I run significantly different cam timing then what a whipple does.

My last centri car was making only 13.5 psi and ran 4.2s 60 to 130. That's equivalent to about a 155 mph trap speed.

Sounds good. It’s just one piece of the puzzle to making power with these. You can push the parts around from different angles and get the same or similar results. All in what you know and what you’re comfortable with. For remote tuning boosted cars, the conservative path is always preferred. But if I get one in my hands, on a dyno with trusted fuel and a few hours then yes I’d be damn near rewriting ford calibration from scratch. I’d love to have the resources to be able to strap my car down and spend a week or a month just mapping out the perfect calibration. I’ve done the best I could on the street making street pulls, but being in a safe controlled environment would be much easier. I think we are doing ok tho. I got lots of happy ESS guys running around on fast but safe calibrations that drive perfectly and make tons of power at wot when they want it.

And for cam timing, we messed around with it on the NA tunes for weeks and ultimately found that ford does indeed know better. For boost tho, that’s a whole other story.

Here's a video of my car completely stock, full weight 4050 pounds here and on street tires with just my e85 tune, only 29 degrees as well so that would be considered conservative to most people. I remember when people were saying on a stock car cam timing makes no difference but I still found some gains. You'd be hard pressed to find a completely stock full weight car with just a tune run better times on the street.

Not too hard pressed to be honest. You are right in line with what we normally see for stock s650s on E85. You are short on spark honestly. I have 93 cars running on that spark with no knock. If you run that well at 29, then try 32. Thats about where you should be. But if you got the VCT clamped down in the middle/top, then I could see 29 being about all it would want. Like I said above, it can easily be 6 of one and half dozen of the other.

What matters is how it actually runs and you seem to have it right for your car on your fuel. Nothing wrong with that. And Im not saying you are wrong, or I know better. Just sharing my experience being over 500 s650s tuned at this point since last july. Im going to BMP shortly with this new car on E85 and a DR trying to get 10s. I have a trick or two to try.

Looking at your video again too, I cant even think about getting 1st gear WOT traction and my car will blast off on the 1-2 shift as well as the 2-3. I just did a 2nd gear hit a few days ago on some new concrete up north here by 41/52 and the car just blew the tires off on the 2-3. I had to let off and get back on it. No way I could do a 1st gear no TC hit with mine. Mine is a 3.55 car too tho so that changes things.

I remember 6 years ago my first gen 3 car ran an 11.32 at 125 all stock and full weight, tune only and on the street with the factory tires. I looked around for a very long time and couldn't find a better time. Everyone had weight reduction and or drag packs on. I found people posting times then finding out they had almost 300 pounds removed. That's just not the same comparisan at all though.

Yeah it’s almost impossible to make and apples to apples comparison between dynos and tracks and dragy. Too many factors to take in to account. Too bad your ESS now id just line them up and see what happens.

Many years ago I use to go to the track every week to dial my cars in. Then I moved farther away from the track and also lost interest in track racing alltogether. I remember way back when I first started 6r80 tuning. I really wanted to maximize that transmission. I went through a set of new drag radials at the track in just 2 months testing and tuning.

Same for me but on the street. I put 3k miles on my first s650 when tuning popped. It was all street tuning and wot pulls up and down a few of the roads near me. I lost count on the tank fulls of e85.
