+1. There's really no good way. About every 3 or 4 days I use a detailer spray to wipe off the fingerprints. 🫤

That strap idea looks pretty good. Certainly better than the one that you have to cut the latch housing to install.

So, what about the hood? In previous generations of Mustangs, there were no gas struts. You lifted the hood from underneath, used the prop rod to hold it open, and dropped it again while keeping your fingers on the underside of the hood. With the gas strut hoods, do you press down from the top, then wipe the fingerprints off, or has someone devised a better method?

If you drop it from the right hight it will close without pushing down.

I grab where the latch is and bring the hood down swiftly in one continuous motion removing my hand about one quarter of the way down. I have seen aluminum hoods get dimples from hands pushing from the top. This way I never get finger prints to wipe off.
