So I'll go on record posing what might turn out to be a really dumb question.

I'd like to add a spare tire kit -- and when choosing one, it matters whether you have the "Brembo Brake Package".

Well, what I do have is:

2026 GT Premium 401A -- USA spec
19" wheels (Bronze Appearance Package)
No performance pack
No "upgraded" brakes (meaning -- standard brakes)

Seems clear, right? But -- my calipers actually say "Brembo" on them.

So, are the upgraded Brembo brakes standard on my GT? Or, are the standard brakes also marked Brembo, and they are just smaller than the "big brake Brembos"??

Thanks guys. And, go easy on me if the answer is "you have the Brembo brakes dummy, they're printed right on them!!" šŸ˜Ž

Cheers!

Looks to be the 4-piston up front and the 2-piston (standard) out back. Compared to my package, 6 pistons up front, 4 pistons rear.

My 2019 GT without the Performance Package came with front calipers that I believe were manufactured by Continental. I bought a spare tire and winter wheels and tires accordingly. Now, I've ordered a 2026 GT with the Performance Package and I have 5 wheels that won't fit the new car -- the spare and the winter setup. If you think you are sticking with Mustangs, it might be worth getting the spare that does fit the larger brakes -- as long as it also fits without them -- just in case you upgrade in the future. Just my $0.02.

re: continental... That's what I understood to be on the S550 (based on various forums), but not the S650 as they are actually branded Brembo.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it -- this all seems to make sense. Glad this apparently wasn’t as dumb a question as I thought it might be.

So -- to clarify and confirm -- it appears I could order a "non-Brembo packageā€ spare kit, since the 4-piston Brembo caliper is standard equipment, and the larger 6-piston Brembo caliper is the Performance Package / Brembo Brake System Package upgrade?

Once again, thanks.

Its a little confusing because all GTs come with Brembo brakes standard. The "upgraded" Brembo package has larger 6 piston brakes and colored calipers. That Brembo package is optional on all GTs, and standard on Performance Pack cars.

So no, you do not have the upgraded Bembo package, and do not need a special spare to fit your brake calipers. šŸ‘šŸ»

Just as a future reference, if you have silver brake calipers, you do not have the upgraded Brembo brake package and don't need to make an order for parts that include the Brembos.

Gentlemen: that is super clear, concise, and helpful. Much appreciated!! šŸ»

@BlueWayOut Not sure if I was supposed to send you the link to these and spaced it out, but I do remember we talked about it a little when we met up...

I know an actual spare is a lot more confidence inspiring; but, here is the link to the tire plug screws that I picked up and carry around with me. Just in case you need a Plan B.

I just found out about them a few months ago as well. Figured since I already had an air pump, courtesy of FoMoCo, I'd give them a try.

Here's our non-PP car with the upgraded "BREMBO" brakes and spoiler delete.

I got the mini spare with my GT and it was only about $400. I think currently they’re about $650 or so. That said the last thing I’d want to do is haul around a spare tire designed for a brake system my car doesn’t have. That is unless it can fit in the spare tire compartment under the trunk. If it can’t then I wouldn’t recommend it.
