SYNC Navigation Map - Night/Dark mode only

MY 2025 GT Europe

In my previous s550 there was an option on the Nav screen to change from Day to Night to Auto mode.
I don't have that option on my s650 anymore, the map screen is always in dark/night mode. I don't mean the lightness of the entire instrument cluster which can be adjusted using the up and down buttons next to the light switch at the lower left.
Is that another option Ford did away with or am I missing something?

I see a couple of things of interest here. I pulled the config from a 2025 Mustang and these bits in the APIM stand out:

3rd and 4th bits of the first block are C1. According to the spreadsheet:

So these bits would need to be changed to 41 to enable DM night and day and keep everything else as it is:

On that same line, the 4th bit of the second is a 6 which means display mode default is night. I would try change that to a 2 for DMD auto Mustang.

So what I would try is:

Write the change, reboot the APIM and see what happens.

Edit: Confirmed that the APIM in my F150 that has it working from factory shows DM Night and Day and DMD auto enabled.

Can I just overwrite Ford's entry with a 4?

Yes. The X just means leave whatever is there as it is

Correct. I think the 4th bit already has a 1 IIRC.

Just to report back with a feedback.

After the APIM changes I am now having the Display option Night - Day or Auto mode. But no matter what I pick the middle display stays in night mode. Have twice done a master reset, again no change.

Could there be another APIM entry which needs to be changed in addition to 7D0-02-03?

I'll dig through the spreadsheet to see if I see anything else related to this.

I don't see anything else in the APIM or IPC that corrolates to this. Not to say there isn't anything else, but I went cross-eyed looking at every feature code on the spreadsheet and I didn't see anything.

I asked one of the gurus on the F150 forum and he said a lot of these things are defined by the vehicle type itself, so it may not work. With that said, I would try changing this value to something other than a Mustang to see what happens. My F150 shows a 1 there and I have the unreal theme enabled in the APIM so I have HVAC controls on the touchscreen like these cars do, so it's worth a shot. Maybe try a 0 for "classic" which I am not sure what that is, but if Smart Surface doesn't display properly, you could try that, too. If this doesn't work, then I am out of ideas.

Edit: Making this change may cause a loss of many Mustang specific features in the APIM. Even if you gain the day/night mode feature, you may lose other things. It can easily be changed back if you don't get the desired result.

As it has transpired Ford did away with that Day - Night - Auto option in the Sync4 menu for all the Mustangs. Strange and unnecessary but that's how it is.

On another note my car shows an error message at every start (see pic).
I don't need that crap and I am sure that emergency call feature can also be disabled using ForScan.

Sorry for bothering you again but maybe you know which module and the code to have it permanently disabled.
