I'm glad we optioned for the spare tire for my wife's car. I've had one in my previous car and current car and used it once for each of them. Sure, I have AAA and can have it towed home, but it's faster for me to change out the tire instead of waiting an hour or so.
AAA is great if you want to wait three hours on them. I ripped them on this after hearing every excuse in the world. I may drop them and use Ford's service instead....or my own. A battery jump starter is pretty cheap to carry in the car. AAA is full of snarky bad attitudes. I just convinced myself to drop them.

It will be funny to see how the S650 looks with a mini spare.

Recenty saw this corvette online, ridiculous difference in scale! I'd rather have full size spare or run flat tyres.

I want to see video of someone hefting the rear HP wheel and tire into the trunk. It will be youtube gold.
Why? I've done this with my e90 M3. It has 265/35-19 and I had the car shipped from a dealer in AZ who neglected to tell me that there was a leak and they had already used the "fix a flat" kit. I had to get that into the trunk to get the tire repaired and it wasn't as if it was that difficult (even if the M doesn't have a dedicated depression to put it into so it only went flat in the trunk.

On a side note, any suggestions on how to get the Modern Spare to fit in a 2025 GT with all of the jack/equipment underneath? My son is trying to solve the puzzle because however he's tried so far the trunk floor won't lay flat. There must be some trick to it?

(Arguably, he dropped by to pick it up while I was seeing a pre-op, so I didn't have that much time to help him sort it out...)

Ok, that's great, but the 315 rear is not some ***** m3 wheel/tire :p

I posted a pic previously, I got everything to lay flat, jack, tire plug kit and all. I couldn't get the inflater in there, but it can be done.

You might also consider a battery pack for jump starts, cell phone charges, laptop charges, lights, etc. Don't forget your self defense too. I have several for that need.
My son's self-defense fits in the front seat. He's working on a third degree black belt in Danzan jujitsu (full Japanese, so all encompassing), so that saves space!

For example, does it fit best face down (will the bar that holds the tire kit in the trunk scratch it up) and fit scissor jack and tools in it like a bowl, or can it be placed tire up and have the items fit under? He was trying it that way first) or face up?

Sure, but on the other side, you haven't seen the "clearances" that BMW finds acceptable! The battery alone in the trunk has perhaps 2mm of "space" around it-very fun to replace, and the trunk opening is only a suggestion. LOL

That and, isn't the GT also a 265? Not my car, don't have it to look at the sidewall, but I was sure it was close to the M3.

I learned all I needed to know about bmw when the one I was piloting on Susten pass lost its brakes about 3 miles from Andermatt.
:explode:

I have the DHHP so that’s why I want to see that 315 stuffed in the trunk. Maybe it can be done, but I don’t want to find out the hard way.

Modern’s jack for the PP/DH does not fit in the well with the spare. I had the same question and reached out to them to get confirmation.
That should be mentioned in the marketing. It might be a deal breaker for some.
I have my jack in a trunk cargo net. Not ideal, but I don’t notice it.

I have the Automotive Authority Jack and it fits fine. Can you add picture of jack? OBTW you probably could go to any junk yard and get a jack from any modern Mustang and it should work, thats what mine looks like.

I have the Automotive Authority Spare/Jack as well. The scissor jack and folding lug wrench is the same design as the OEM. I turned the spare over (outside of rim facing the bottom of the trunk) and everything fits inside of the rim (jumper cables & tire inflator sealant kit too). It's not 100% flat with the inflator kit but it's close and if you have a rubber trunk liner you won't notice. Wrapped the jack in an old towel to prevent rattles and put the spare on top of an old towel to prevent scratching.
