TPX Laser Jammer DIY Install

Just for shits & giggles I installed a laser jammer. I installed a different brand on my fox body years ago.

I did this job without any cutting or drilling except for small slit in the center of firewall rubber plug.

TPX product

Wired to fuse box

CPU onto fender well via a fastener into an existing hole

Thru firewall

Control in the cockpit

Remove radiator cowling to access behind the grill

I used steel band fasterners to attach CM transponders (jamming heads) to fins behind grill

If you look closely you can see the stainless steel fasteners attaching the 3 jamming heads behind the grill.

Credit for the install. You are probably aware If the heads are obstructed in any way it reduces the overall effectiveness of the jamming capability. I understand there's a toss-up between the desire for stealth and not cutting. I think the TPX system claims to be waterproof. What is your feeling on that?

I have some additional questions.
Since you mounted the CPU in the fender well, did you install a USB extension for firmware updates?

How did you get through the firewall? I couldn't really tell by the picture.

Laser is very prevalent here in California. CHP uses it nearly as much as radar. Even smaller cities have guns now. It's hard to escape no matter where you drive here.

Yes, that review is from 2022 with pre-production firmware. The TPX has three heads for under a grand, making it slightly more palatable than the ALPS system.

good looking install, but unless you're being tagged from a fair ways in front, they're going to be rather ineffective. also you should know those shudders open and close, they don't stay still, so just hope they don't ruin the cables to the heads or close when you're being targeted
