Maybe I am opening up a can of worms asking this question, but I figure, why not. Ran into an owner of a '25 GT350 on Friday, and was able to drive it. I have to say, I was very impressed with the drive, the power, and handling. I lso felt the added styling was a nice touch.
I have been debating about getting back into a Dark Horse with Handling pack, but the GT350, certainly has my mind twisted right now. The big aurgument might be to just wait on the Dark Horse SC, but I think most agree, obtaining one of these isn't going to be easy in the next 12-18 months. Just curious if anyone has had any experience or has seen a S650 GT350, and their thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Dark Horse Handling Pack - then add Whipple....done .....

I just saved you about 75K - Ill be expecting my fees in the mail : P

They are all ready discounting the S650 GT350s around here........most people are turned off because no VooDoo- and the same car as the other 6 supercharged S650s Shelby slaps badges on....

Buy a DH and put a whipple or ESS on it + Full Steeda Suspension and still have $40k in your pocket.

75K? A new Whippled DH HP has to run what 85-90ish? The GT350 starts at 125k. I agree its absolutely over priced for what it is, but where are you guys getting 40-75k in savings from?

Ford gave up on the VooDoo. Blow one under warranty now and Ford sends a Predator block with VooDoo internals.
I'll probably catch some crap for saying this, but the Gen 1's were hot garbage, and despite a ton of improvements the Gen 2 was still a ticking time bomb. Sure they sound like heaven, but they're hell for holding together. The Gen 4 Coyote is a way better engine.

From what my friend told who’s a Ford engineer…. They are meant to be driven hard, at higher RPM’s
If you baby them and drive like a grandpa then that’s when the oil issues and piston problems start happening.
They really are race engines not meant for the street.

Dark Horse SCs might be easier to get than you think depending on where you live. We’ve had reports of dealers in SoCal calling around and asking if anyone wanted their allocation

I have a 2024 Dark Horse Premium with the handling package with the Tremec with a whipple supercharger. I am very happy with it. Don't like spending all that extra money just to have a dead guy's name on it that had nothing to do with building or designing the car.

Can I ask what neighborhood that set up set you back for?

To be fair Its been like that since the late 60s. And while I wont defend the current products, historically there has been a little more to it than a dead guys name.

I feel by the time I buy a DH Handling Pack and add the SC it will be $95k. Add wheels, an aluminum hood, new fascia, CF wing and seat covers I’m at $110ish vs the $120k

You aren't wrong.

One thing I would point out is that if you are changing the wheels anyway, I wouldn't opt for the Handling Package on the DH. At that point you are just paying for stiffer springs and bigger sway bars, all of which can be upgraded in the aftermarket (Steeda) with better results for roughly the same expense.

Im not up on what suspension upgrades Shelby does for the GT350, so its hard to compare against the DH HP, apples to apples.

Another thing thay hasnt been touched on is transmission. I could be wrong, but I think the Shelby cars keep the Getrag MT82. IF thats the case and you want a manual, then definitely get the DH for the Tremec.

True but also you'll have a DH instead of an upgraded GT with Shelby badges.

Isn't a Dark Horse an upgraded GT with badges? Unless you are getting the Tremec with HP Id definitely say so.

They’re all just parts bin Mustangs with different badges on them right… lol
Same as a Porsche 911 with 14 different models
