My Aftermarket Subwoofer is Playing Engine Noise

Hey 7G world! I installed a subwoofer in my GT with the 301A package (no factory sub). I tapped into the brown/blue (positive) and gray/brown (negative) speaker wires and all went well. Battery to the capacitor to the amp, no issues. However, on day-two, my sub began playing engine noise consistently between 2-3k rpms. It sounds like dragging a bass drum over railroad tracks. Before and after 2-3k rpms, no engine noise is present. I lowered the LPF from 110 to 50 and the sound of the engine noise decreased but did not go away. Any ideas about what’s happening?

Hey, I'm a boomer ... but even though I can't say I've actually "heard" it, I believe it is there, all of Ford's literature says so, and the as built data from all of the cars show it enabled.

1960 Vintage BOOMER here and with my TINNITUS, I likely won't hear it

Side benefit of my TINNITUS is I miss much of managements nagging :^)
