Hey guys. I know some hate good bye threads, but here goes; this one has nothing to do with the car itself. It was a fantastic beast and I barely got to know her before we had to part ways.

As part of a cost cutting effort, my now ex-company decided that our already thinly staffed IT department needed to cut 20% of its budget. Being I am my site's most experienced customer facing IT guy, I was also paid a little more than most others, so they "eliminated my position" with no notice, no time to plan ahead. I think hey are hoping that my senior tech will take over the job but pay him at his current rate (no raise). On the way out I told him not to accept the job unless they gave him a nice increase, we'll see if he takes my advice.

Sorry, rant over.

They did provide a little bit of severance, but not much, so we're having to make some drastic changes fairly quickly to rebalance the budget, and one of those is selling the Mustang,

Enjoy your guys' cars! For the short time I got to be here, it was very informative and helpful. I hope to be back here someday. Thanks guys.

Sorry to hear! I found myself in a similar situation years ago and know first hand how much it sucks! Hope you're able to get back to work before it's too much more of a disruption to normal life!

Sorry for what happened.

FWIW, I've experience same. In one instance, the company was good about it. Advanced notice while giving severance if we left, offers of jobs in other cities/states if we stayed. Another, without explanation, sent us an e-mail with a two-week notice, a date of our last paycheck and nothing else.

Job seeking often involved several WTF moments, with an offer of employment then appearing during some of the most unexpected situations or conversations.

Hope to read of you in another job and Mustang soon.

@Zig got it right. OP, sorry to hear of this, best of luck.

This kind of nonsense happens frequently, it's all very shortsighted, and I wish you the best in your job search.

And it's just a car, you can always get another one later!

Best regards.

One door closes, another one opens.....you will do better because you gained experience. Best of luck and now your new job is to find one, this takes eight plus hours a day, take it this way and you will find employment quickly...Cheers.

Damn! That sucks (and sorry to hear you got treated so raw)!

My the fleas of a thousand camels infest their beards, their chai be bitter and unminted, and their intestines be unsettled and vexing! 😉
