Hi all,

I have a few rattles in my new 25 (1100 miles). I despise rattles, but expected a few minor ones. I did not expect more rattles than my 2010 suv.

There is one in the passenger door that will rattle with music, bumps and slightly unsmooth pavement. Not sure if there is an easy fix for this. I am not above wedging some folded paper or cardboard to stop it.

Seatbelts: Sounds like somethign around the seatbelts where they mount to the B pillar. I have not fully localized the sound.

Rear deck lid. there is a louder rattle over rough pavement that sounds like its coming from the plastic deck lid. Hoping there is a strategic place I can wedge a rag to stop it.

I am tempted to pull the interior out and slather it in sound deadening but I don't have the time to do that anytime soon.

I notice a quiet rattle in the passenger side A pillar, with the windows up and radio off I can hear it, particularly when below 2k rpm, goes away if I reach across and give it a push. I’m going to ask the service to look at it this week.

I was going to say earplugs. But I'll sympathise instead.
I hate rattles too. It's just a process of elimination. Best with two people, try and locate the rattle, put pressure on likely fittings to see if it stops, then use cushioning, double sided tape, whatever to stop it.
I also cable tie any loose cables. There a fabric tape that wraps around connectors to prevent rattling. Can't think of the brand right now.

nope. Turn up the radio, get a loud exhaust and open the windows.
That would work if the Radio didnt make the door rattle more. Rear deck also rattles when the volume goes up, even sitting still.

I think I am going to drop it at the dealer and let them try to sort it. When they fail, ill pull the door card and throw some sound deadening foam in there and secure anything thats loose.

please reply back with how it goes. The nearest ford dealer is 45 miles away, so if its just an "Its the way the car is" answer. Then i wont bother.

Seems like a good excuse to go for a drive to me 😮

I had to move my appointment to next week, but I’ll feedback after.

The real issue is getting home when I drop off the car :)

I found a thread for the 550 about the exact same problem and some fixes, so at least there are some things to try.

I've chased down a few minor noises with this insulated foil foam off amazon. Is not true sound deadening material like dynamat, or the other type "Sound absorbing" like for a studio. But does a nice job at sound and even thermal.

fun fact, the standard dynamat is for vibration and resonance reduction. The foam is better at blocking noise. I coated the entire back half of an S4 once and it was night and day with the foam.

Maybe the speakers are rattling?

Could use Gaffer’s tape. I use it for work actually. Is not super sticky, but does absorb vibration
