Hi all!

I just brought home a new 2025 GT 6 speed. a while back I owned a 2019, and remember there were a number of easy quality of life things that could be done.

I am wondering if there are any for the 650. For example, deleting the sound tube on the 550, or disconnecting the center channel speaker to improve sound quality. On my old GTI, it was common to remove the Clutch return Spring for more clutch feel.

I did the billetworx teardrop shift knob because the stock one was not substantial enough, disappeared in my hand. Easy and definitely an improved shifting experience.

LOL :cwl:

Does 2025 have holes in front fenders? Or was it just 2024?
See if you have holes in fender liners right behind the wheel. If so, cover them. Many useful threads on how to do so.

Congrats on your new ride.

Looks like 2025 does not have inner fender holes. They fixed it. That is good.
Nothing urgent to do. Just drive your new ride and enjoy. Mods will come as needed.

Depending on how tall you are get the seatbelt extender that hooks to the headrest. Cheap and quick and makes a world of a difference.

On the new knob, how is that push-down lockout system? Is that just for parking and so then only really used in reverse? The purpose is so the shifter isn’t accidentally put into N while parked?

It sits a little higher than the stock knob, so does it not interfere with the reverse lockout even though it is larger.

I'm a cruiser and a road tripper, not a racer, so the cabin experience is important to me. I bought a slab of MLV and cut it to fit in the trunk, put the carpet on that and an all-weather rubber mat on top. I also put all-weather mats up front, together it makes the cabin a lot quieter. If you have the premium sound, be sure to put in in surround mode. I have the 20's so the tires are deflated a few psi for comfort. (I kinda wish I had gone PP for more sidewall and magna-ride.)

There's no sound tube to remove and you don't need to disconnect the center speaker, the ESE can easily be disabled in FORSCAN. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you only have the ESE with the premium sound and it only goes to the subwoofer in the trunk.

1" wheel spacers on a base model stick GT. Fixed the "wheels to small/don't fill wheel well" look.
