Hi all!,

just got a 24 5.0 premium 10R80. Previous owner only did H-PIPE RESONATER DELETE and k&n Typoon Cold air Intake. I noticed a whistling noise when I accelerate mostly present when my foot is more than halfway down and it seems to go away at higher speeds. Is this normal with a cold air intake? Just getting into the car scene now, so I apologize for asking a stupid question. I had one of my buddies tighten up everything in regards to the intake and he told me he “couldn’t hear” what I was talking about. It just sounds like a whistle. Does anyone else have this set up or anything similar and hear what I hear? Thank you again in advance, and I look forward to being a part of this community.
Its most likely from the aftermarket CAI or carbon trap delete. Do you have the factory air boxes?

I don’t not have the factory air boxes, but that’s what everyone seems to be pointing to. I only had one other Mustang a couple years ago, which was a 2021 Mustang GT that only had an x pipe on it and no CAI, it did not make this noise. I’m just surprised at how prominent the whistling is. Maybe it’s just my anxiety toying with me.

No, I heard the video. It's definitely there. Im 99% sure thats from the aftermarket intakes. Which is a shame because those are completely useless on the S650. Just learn to live with it, or find some OEM airboxes on marketplace. Its not hurting anything.

Mine is consistent, do you have any modifications. Feel like I’m just letting my anxiety get the better of me
I do not have any modifications to it.
It has made this whine since day one.
The whine is much more noticeable while driving into my garage.

I hear a slight whine from mine at idle but I’m not really worried about that, but good information

Thats your transmission. They all do that. He's talking about intake whistle with throttle input. Two different things.

Thank you for the info my friend, I appreciate it. I may learn to live with it overtime, or possibly just go back to a stock set up. What do you think that will cost about?

Post a picture of the intakes. Are they just filters, or tubes too?

Bingo. Thats the whole CAI kit. Is the car tuned?
No, previous owner said it is not tuned. Also on the K and N website it indicates that this setup does not need to be tuned. It says no tune required. It’s crazy how much more of this car pops though in track exhaust mode compared to my S550

I feel like the whistling is just gonna eat at me lmao, didn’t want to tune because don’t wanna void warranty with ford. But regardless I can’t find a whole OEM kit for the intake with the air box’s

I asked about the tune because most aftermarket intakes kits require it. But I googled that K&N kit and it doesnt say seem to require one. They are boasting 18.84 hp which is ridiculous. And it looks like the PO spend over $800 on that. 🤦

Keep an eye out on marketplace or offer up for a take of OEM. Im sure they can be had for cheap.
