A Mazda dealer just listed a 700A USED 2025 Dark Horse with 8.8K miles on it for $59,995. Another Ford dealer has a new Dark Horse listed MSRP $68,070, sale price $64,923...

Selling my almost new 2025 and boy got to tell you folks the market is in the tank like bottom of the Ocean.
Albeit, we are currently Winter - but let me tell you - $12 to $15K losses on your car over what you paid these wagons DO NOT HOLD THEIR VALUE, as a matter of fact they are void of value ...

I am shocked at the value loss really ...
Why sell it? Why not drive it and have fun.

I did not pay that much more than that for mine with only 800 miles last May/June (2024).

This does not seem like the values are dropping all that much.

Where are you getting your value, and what is the number from that source?

OP - If you absolutely NEED to sell, you can try one of the various car-bidding sites as well. You may just find the right buyer who digs your car!

Sidenote: I'm seriously surprised the US cars have MSRP's that high. Converted to CAD, you guys are getting REKT on those prices...

Shameless obligatory tongue in cheek offer: I'll start the bidding at $420.69. :)

I have found that art resale time (Not Trade In) that most folks do not want to pay for a loaded car. They want all the goodies of course but usually these lowballers are all about the price and miles. It is ALL about the price. I buy them nearly stripped, get a discount and sell with super low mileage and I do all right. I do have to eat the sales tax....

Why do you think this is abnormal?

I asked a friend who works at a BMW dealer how much a 2026 M2 they had on their lot would be worth as a used car with about 200 miles on it.

  • MSRP: $76,460
  • Used Value: $65,000

So that's a $11,460 loss for doing nothing but driving it off the lot as your car. 🤷‍♂️

I'm sorry to hear about your deflation value.
I just checked mine with KBB [sell yourself], I have a 2025 GT Primum Manual /Night Package Mustang and I'm about $4000 in the hole which I think is pretty good considering I paid $54,000 for it new after all rebates and discounts.
KBB said between $49287. and $52387.

My question is, are the GT' Premium's holding their value better than the Dark Horse?

Two things can be true at the same time in the same reality. The stock market is bonkers, fuel measurably cheaper and saying otherwise is really just partisan and nothing more. Wages outpacing inflation is new though and not consistent or a pattern. It's been upside down for years.
If you believe those numbers, that they withheld for months, replaced people at the USBA and then came out with this "fairy tale". Not a chance.

KBB's values are pure fantasy.

I've never known a dealer that didn't laugh at their trade-in values, and I've never met anyone who got their private party sale value for a private party sale. 🤷‍♂️
