You want to pay 200K+ for the same car?

I have a feeling we are all going to be disappointed with the price they set the SC at. I'm interested in the CFTP but it's pretty wild how the mustang price has jumped since the GT350/GT500 have come out...which a lot of these cars are inheriting parts off of.
I hope its not that crazy. If a 'base' DH SC starts around $95K like some people think, I would guess the Shelby base would start around $120K ish. But you could be right, by the time all the bells and whistles are added it could be pushing well near the high 100's :crying:

I think the car looks great in black. Especially if the plastic pieces were to be swapped out with carbon fiber.

oh yeah, that looks pretty nice. but now think of the dust, dirt, and amount of time it will take to clean it. dark colors are such a double edged sword in terms of appearance
EcoBoost guys are going to be lining up to buy that bumper
that's why you gotta get the carbon fiber appearance package. front bumper, mirror caps, and diffuser all in carbon fiber would hopefully price out the wannabes, even at aftermarket rates. that and the actual headlight spacing, since the SC's bumper lines up with wider fenders

yes, the front fenders are actually wider, but not as wide as the GTD
Front fenders are replaceable with hand tools tho, so someone doing a front conversion will likely replace them too, no?

true, but it creates a bit of a hassle that most people who just want a front bumper swap would probably be driven away by since it also requires taking off the side skirt, and if they have any custom fender badges, transferring and aligning those too.

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges. 🤣

I would have ordered my dark horse in iconic silver metallic if it were available. I hope @roket is right on his pricing speculation and maybe now is my shot🤞

I like to disassemble things.
Wonder who at Shelby pissed off someone at Ford and what was it over?
Not mine to defend but there was word elsewhere that Shelby wanted their royalty fee bumped higher and Ford said not gonna happen. There is legitimate friction now between the two camps. Ford saying things like "Shelby doesn't race" as partial justification for going in a different direction is only adding gas to the fire.

If this is truly the case, F them for being greedy. They're already overpricing everything at "Shelby American". This could come back to bite them if that company starts to fall. I'm sure that was a nice fee they were getting from Ford.

GT350/GT500 name had all the history with the Mustang. The most important thing today though is that Ford Performance/Racing is still able to create these Mustangs. I had a 96 Cobra back in the day and I currently have a 350R. The SVT/Ford Performance divisions through the years have been my heroes.

the new GT350 TA is what, 225K? The DH SC will be 150 out the door with some options. No chance it will be any less.
