Well, when it comes to track capable they did a pretty good job of execution with the Dark Horse w/ handling package, considering the extra cooling, suspension, and, especially, brakes. If they are bringing out another Dark Horse that is the most advanced, powerful, and track-capable Dark Horse ever, then they could hardly produce a Dark Horse less track capable than the existing handling package model of the Dark Horse. I would expect an improvement. They used that phrase quite literally with every presentation of a new trim in the last couple of years and it means close to nothing.
It can be translated to: 'we did the bare minimum but with a maximum in marketing it looks spectacular'...
My expectations now are a faster, track capable Dark Horse. It will have cooling to support the horsepower upgrade and maybe an even better suspension, maybe some super smart engineers for the magneride tuning for lap time improvements so we can get our own version of that guy that worked on the Corvette magnetic system and now has his own company selling DSC controllers for the GM magneride that reduce lap times by 2-3 seconds.Expectations are a funny thing. Some folks have theirs set so high that Ford could never meet them. Others are more realistic and understand that the Mustang is still an amazing value in a category that no one but Ford seems to have an interest in. Bottom line. Regardless of what you think we were going to get a SC’ed, track ready Dark Horse is going to be very cool.
