I just bought a 2024 premium GT with the B&O system. I would like to add a better amplifier and subwoofer but I have read that these S650s have a fake engine sound pumped through the speakers . I read that the only way people have had luck disabling the Electronic Sound Enhancement is with Forescan, But I am looking to see if anyone has figured out a different way .
I did talk to a rep at Crutchfield audio and he seems to think the ANC bypass harness they offer might work, but not sure .

ANC is different than fake noise, although I'm not sure if the GT really has either or not.

There is a fake noise getting pumped through the stereo. People have disabled it with Forscan. No other way. Theres a ten page thread buried somewhere on it.

I looked through the entire wiring diagram for the car, theres no microphones to disconnect, its 100% synthetic through the speakers. Its called ESE, I think.

Is it a convertible? Those are the only ones with ANC... all of them have ESE... which is what you will need to disable.
......no the S650 GT does not have "fake engine sounds" put through the stereo or anything else. Simply because that is not needed with a 5.0. I have heard that some iterations of the ecoboost had that.
They ALL have ESE...

ESE and ANC needs to be off for the install. I believe there is a bypass for ANC, but then you would still need to disable ESE via Forscan.

Another thing of note is that you won't hear the heartbeat/gallop sound through subs, but you will hear the backup/motion sensors beep through subs when backing up if somethings there, but its minor and no issue.

I have a detailed thread on the Forscan forums.

Not a convertible, I bought a harness to disable the ANC, but have not figured out the ESE.

Ford says otherwise .

Yes, the 2024 Mustang GT uses an electronic sound enhancement system, especially if it is equipped with the optional B&O sound system. This system amplifies engine sounds and plays them through the speakers, and it is separate from the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system that is also present in some models.

Electronic Sound Enhancement (ESE)
  • What it is: A system that amplifies and plays engine sounds through the car's audio speakers.
  • How it works: It is a digital enhancement rather than a physical sound tube, and it adds to the perceived engine noise inside the cabin.
  • Affected systems: The ESE system is confirmed for models with the B&O system, but it is also mentioned in relation to GT models with the standard sound system.

Thank you, I will check it out. I cannot believe Ford would pump fake engine noise into the cabin in a GT..lol

.....my 2024 GT does not make any non-engine ambient noise. Friend brought over two meters he uses for commercial HVAC installations in sensitive installs - hospitals, computer sites etc. The instruments can read noise and vibration from well beyond both ends of the human hearing spectrum and ability to detect vibrations. My GT is parked for the winter but we ran it up to 2000 rpm and there was zero response. He said watch this - he ran his finger on the dash and the scope spiked. Of course there were engine and drivetrain noises that he accounted for but zero in any form of noise cancellation or augmentation. My 2 cents.

Is a Ford dealership able to disable the ESE?
