Hi,

First I wanna say thanks for a great forum!

I have been daily driving my mustang gt 2024 för almost two years (from april to november).
Two things I cannot wrap my head around, see attached clips:
- my brake pedal has always made this "swooosh" sound, is it normal? I have seen some users have this problem but I have not read if it is a problem or normal behavior.
- By brakes/pads(?!) are squeaking every time I apply foot-brake force or relase the foot brake. This happens at every stop even though I am daily driving and all rust etc should be gone.

Are the above two arrends a warranty job or should I just live with it?

Thanks!

Not normal. I wouldn't put up with that more than 5 minutes.

I had the swooshing noise with some clicking thrown in for fun. Mine started to do it very frequently. Took it to the dealer a few times, could not replicate (bs).

Ford ended up buying back my Mustang as a lemon.

Update:

Thanks for all replays, they helped me a lot. I have booked a warranty visit at the local Ford dealership the 25th this month about the two above errends (brake noise and pedal noise)
I have also included a new errend that is a wrinkled steering wheel, see attached picture.
I will post an update on how it went!
Have a good day!

Brake pedal sounds like it needs a lube.

Brakes sound like they are binding. but if they are squeaking at a stop, either the pads or rotors are glazed or you just need new pads.

If you get your rotors cut that should stop the sound, unless it's the pads.

Steering wheel: try applying a leather conditioner.

that's all I got...

I'll suggest that the brake noise is normal, that's just the sound that performance pads make when engaging and releasing. The pedal noise is different, not normal, but probably not something that I'd worry about. A quick shot of some lubricant at the pivot point might take care of it.

I don't know how things are in Sweden, but here in America warranty claims for things like this are often hard to get resolved. With the steering wheel, I'd also not have much hope of getting a positive response to that either, they'll probably blame the cow.

Best of luck!

Ford told me it's normal coming from the brake booster. But everything with Ford is normal.

Hi all,

Sorry for the late update, finally went to the ford dealer.
Conclusion:
* Brade pedal making a swoosh-sound is not a warranty matter.
* Brakepads squeaking is not a warranty matter.
* the tearing at the steering wheel (see post nr5) IS A WARRANTY MATTER.

They will replace the steering wheen in april 2026.

Thx. Was just about to say.

Creaking rocking chair/wooden stair in the middle of the night sound normal, swooshing pedal mostly normal as long as fluid level is sufficient.

We used to remove the pads and soak them with CRC Brakleen, it got rid off squeaking more often than not.
The wooshing noise used to be vacuum booster noise, but I believe these cars have electric booster pumps. It could be still the pump pressurising the system though.

Personal experience: Every single Ford I have owned (over a dozen) have had squeaky brakes, especially when backing up. Don't try and find a cure (you won't!), and just live with it!

I have the swoosh on my Focus since day one and it doesn’t impact braking so I guess it’s normal.
