Just got home not too long ago.

They did proceed the sealing after all, which is fine with me. There wasn’t any water leaking before or after the sealant was applied.

They did a good job, didn’t find any mess or blobs anywhere.

Hats off to my Ford Dealer!

They are wrapping up my car now after completing the recall procedure. No evidence of leaks, and they took me into the service bay to see the work before they reinstall the cowl. The technician showed skill in applying the sealant, which makes me feel good about the overall work. She is staying pretty busy with these as she is the one doing the work on the dealer orders and stock requiring the recall procedure. Obviously mine is not the first one she’s done. I’m satisfied at this point. If I note any issues after I get it home and give the car a really close inspection I’ll let you know.

UPDATE: I took a really good look at my car today out in the sun and everything looks good. No issues. I should have taken pictures yesterday when I saw it apart in the service bay, but forgot to do so. I did pull back the covers somewhat today and this is an example of the work performed. Kudos to Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills in Colorado Springs!!

and the Ford app already shows that the recall has been completed (no outstanding recalls).

I just now see the fix has pushed to Q1 2026, and the stop sell is still in place...
Thanks for all the info. I decided to do the inspection myself and wanted to ask if you see the need for me to proceed and apply the sealant. Thanks

Looks good to me, I opted not to do it on mine. Officially, I would imagine that I am expected to tell you to get it done regardless, but none of the ones we've done here so far have had any issues.

I doubt it would be just one, the whole cavity would show evidence of it.

My dealer just told me no problems. He also said as long as the recall is open, the work can be done if anyone prefers not to have their car messed with. They do recommend checking the BCM.

Got my written recall from Ford Wednesday. Called my dealer up yesterday; set up an inspection appointment. Not sure if I'll go or cancel the appointment. No garage; GT sits outside all the time; umpteen monsoon like rain storms + many auto (touchless high pressure) and hand washes with nary a drop of water inside the car. If there was a defect that was going to leak; seems like it would have happened already. 🤷‍♂️

My dealer just told me to just have the BCM inspected and leave the rest alone. As long as the recall is open, you can have it done. I'll take my chances.

Has anyone heard of or had a bad BCM?

I just now see the fix has pushed to Q1 2026, and the stop sell is still in place...
I received my letter from Ford a few days ago indicating parts were available.

The dealer I bought the car from said:
3-5 days to diagnose. If repairs were needed parts would need to be ordered and said he could not tell me how long it would take to get then when I asked. days? weeks? months? He would not allow me to pick the car up and return it when parts arrived if it was going to take a long time.
I asked Why, if the parts are in stock at according to Ford, he could not give me even at estimate on time to get them. He said he just couldn't tell me the time.

Another dealer said he would allow me to pick it up if parts took a long time to arrive. It was not a manager I spoke to so I will try to re-confirm with the service manager.

A 3rd dealer said no parts were available at all so no fix is available yet.

I spoke to a Ford customer relations person who really couldn't quite get a grasp of the situation at all.

So .....
Has anyone had to deal with not being able to get their car back when parts were not available?
Is it even legal for them to refuse to return your car?

It's crazy none of the dealers in Austin relay the same information. With 3 different stories from 3 different dealers I just don't know who to believe.

Dear lord. Was there clown music playing during this conversation? 3-5 days to diagnose a recall...? And they want to keep your car? I don't even know where to start here. Other than grab your keys are get the hell away from that dealer as fast as you can. 🤦‍♂️
