I will check with my local dealer regarding paint. I can't imagine Ford not allowing for a color match. If they won't paint it I will take it up higher. That is just not acceptable considering the cost of the car.

I wonder if they would deny the repairs if you have a chance on their dime to get it repaired and decide not to and then a year or two later the damage occurs. Something to consider.

I'm not a windshield expert but I don't see any way in hell they can pull a windshield up without breaking something.....like a windshield.

From what I'm told I have the option to not do the recall but if something happens in the future Ford won't be rsponsible. If anyone has a copy of the entire recall I would love to read it to see exactly what they are going to do.

The full recall should be on NHTSA...

When the plastic cowl cover goes back on, none of the sealant will be seen.

Yes, once the covers are back in place, the "repair" couldn't be seen. Not sure why people are asking for a "repaint" (and repaint what? It's not metal.. it's in part sealant; if anything they should use color matched sealant, but it's not happening).

I just took a look through the areas that is open and nothing can be seen. Still a nasty looking repair job.

That's a Ford "engineer" and the UAW hard at work for our little cars that only feed them with our hard earned money. I wonder if they even care. I know the answer.

Just got mine back from the dealer. They talked me through everything they did including adding new sealant. I can't find any defects in what you can see so went well i think. Also discussed a couple of paint blemishes and made appt to fix those under warranty. Will see how that goes in a week or so.

So you want them to color match and paint over seam sealer that cant be seen underneath a panel? Good luck with that.

No, not at all. I want them to use 100% pure gold, i’ll take care of the cleanup. 🤣
