I start the car every 2-3 weeks and warm it up for 20-30 minutes. Then I wait 2-4 days before I put it back on the battery tender. Allowing the battery to discharge some helps with life some. I move it around on the tires and keep non-ethanol gas in it during storage too. Helps prevent corrosion...
Another vote for the MT82. I love it for what it is. Having fun cruising all over. It's the best I have ever owned. Easy and forgiving. But agree it's not the best one to choose for high performance and or track.
I'm 68 and have many age related ailments, bad back etc. But love my manual anyway. I don't track at all. Just open road fun. Would not have bought a mustang with auto. But understand the tradeoff. Mine is a garage queen that only comes out for fun drives.
My routine is to unplug the tender when I drive it and then plug it back in after sitting for about two days after the drive. Haven't had any obvious issues yet. Agree the combination of car loads with AGM type batteries discharges much faster. Had the same problem with Optima battery in my...
I also store for winter. I use non-ethanol gas, battery tender, and keep tires slightly above rated. I also start and idle it every few weeks when weather permits to keep moisture out and the engine lubrication. I trying those plug in mouse blocker devices for the first time this year.
Agree Ford sucks with paint. My other cars are better. After looking under my garage lights, I can see the repair is not that great as well. Quit while I'm behind i think.
Since I previously mentioned blemishes in my paint, thought I would follow up. My dealer body shop repaired two spots that ended up being defects or particles in the base color coat. They sanded down and replaced color only in the spot in question but then re-sprayed clear coat on the entire...
I won't touch mine because it's unique but agree it most likely won't affect value long term. I think owners should do what ever they want. It's a cool car no matter what you do. Driving it is why we buy them.
Just got mine back from the dealer. They talked me through everything they did including adding new sealant. I can't find any defects in what you can see so went well i think. Also discussed a couple of paint blemishes and made appt to fix those under warranty. Will see how that goes in a week...
I had a positive experience at my dealer for the first oil change. The mechanic let me look under the car while he worked and explained the procedure. Also discussed the issues regarding the many fasteners he removed etc. They put in 10 quarts and also explained that the dipstick level for full...
Sorry I was not clear. You are correct that the testing is standardized and conducted in controlled facilities. I am suggesting it doesn't really match on road driving results.
