Theres no way theres that little of profit per car that they have to cut floor mats lol.

Especially since the R&D for this platform was done in 2014.
Regardless of when the R&D was done saving penny's adds up. You may not see it and I don’t but the bean counters do.

Because unlike those four SUVs the Mustang is its own platform and shares no parts with another car. That makes it more expensive to produce.
And who's fault is that?

Ford had a truly brand new S650 (supposed to be released around 2020) with a new platform in the pipeline but then they canceled the whole thing and decided to stick with the old... And some are still complaining because 'iT wOuLd HavE sHAreD tHe plATfOrm WiTh aN SuV'...

I would predict that sales would be much stronger if we would've gotten a truly new mustang on a new platform. Lighter, faster, up to date and cheaper to produce...
But that ship has sailed. Bad business decisions made way above our pay grade have ruined that option.

Dude you are so misguided. No one wants the mustang to share a platform, especially with an SUV.

And there is no such world where a lighter, faster, and cheaper V8 sports car can or will exist. People on this forum really need to stop bitching for the sake of bitching and get real.

I had to order floor mats for my 2024, 1 of my few options, spare was free back then still

also profit it horrible… the did 50B in revenue and barely 2B in profit…. Ford needs every nickel to fund the transition to electric.

Because people like you don't understand how modern platforms work... No offense, it's just something you could educate yourself in if you like. If you don't than just don't.

A new platform would allow Ford to use lightweight material to reduce weight (aluminum engine block), use more adequate tech like AWD to make the car faster and like you said - shared parts reduce the overall costs.

That's true. A multi use platform can be used for anything from a two seater sports car to a large SUV. In the case of the Mustang you can really thank Covid. It basically shut down the world for a year and cost major manufacturers billions. After that Ford just couldn't afford the luxury of a new platform for a relatively low production selling car.

Glad I have a 24 401A Ragtop

The deletion of Homelink is a head scratcher, how much can it be?

Before I wandered onto the Forums this morning my financial adviser, AKA Mrs Neggytive who has an uncanny ability to make money on stocks told me she was selling our Ford stock.

It has been a real dog IMHO, not enough gains/dividends to justify holding it.

Do I hold on to a stock with less than 6% appreciation in the last year, or buy some more of the one that has me up 36% in the same time?

Did anyone read where Ford is getting out of the "Hot Hatch" business in Europe?
Those are cars that historically have done well for them, but like everything else they screwed it up and are surrendering the market to the competition

Also BMW just announced that although they were discontinuing the Z4 in Europe but they are going to continue selling it in the USA because it is selling well her.

A fun little 2 seat ragtop. It is a car that many potential Mustang ragtop owners might consider as an alternative. Yes I know it is a Turbo 6 vs a V8, but apples to oranges it is a good alternative to the Mustang.

And Ford wonders why they are only selling about 45,000 gas powered Mustangs of all drive trains and trim levels.

BMW is selling about 67,000 Z4's
Where did you get that statistic of the Z4 selling 67,000 units? Is it the sales for the entirety of the current Z4 generation? Is it global sales? Because if not, there’s no way they sold that many in a single year in the US

Oh people like me need to be educated? Says the moron that thinks Ford can make a lighter and faster Mustang platform for less money. 🤣

The "spare tire slime, Mickey Mouse compressor system" of dealing with a flat tire sucked and now, it looks like that is an option. WTH are they not thinking? They're asking for sales to drop even more.
Unfortunately when the customer is unable to figure out how to use stop leak do they really suspect they’ll know how to change a tire? But yes, completely agree, they seem to be not thinking about the customer but the service provider.

When I was looking at the 2026 colors about a month ago, I didn't see that the Blue Ember Metallic was going to be made available going forward, and assumed the Adriatic Blue Metallic was taking its place. Did I interpret that correctly?

  • Addition of two new exterior colors:
    • Adriatic Blue Metallic
    • Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat
  • Deletion of two exterior colors:
    • Wimbledon White
    • Intense Lime Yellow Metallic

These car do come with spares (at least the '24s did). The limitation is on the cars with the 6 piston brembos. Ford doesn't make a spare that will fit over the calipers AND fit in the trunk. It's been that way since the S550.

Some of the 24's had them others didn't. The '25's do not. I still have my spare from my '15 Ecoboost. Do you think I should check for rot? :giggle:
