As I’m getting more familiar with my car, I was trying to figure out the best way to remove/ replace the dipstick with the Ford Perf. Tower Brace directly above it. (I installed the brace)
Removing it, isn’t bad, it just pulls off to the side of the brace. There’s just enough flex to make it.
Replacing it is more tricky, but I figured out how to make it easy…As you know the dipstick will only easily bend forward and back along it’s flat side, and that side curls into the side of the engine.
So I wiped the dipstick clean after checking, and with the flat side of the stick facing the top of the engine, I laid it parallel between the tower brace and the engine. Meaning the stick is laid lengthwise across the engine and underneath the tower brace. Then I reached under the brace and just fed the stick into the hole (giggity) and with the flat side facing the direction it is going to curl, it just slid in so easily. Since the stick is wiped clean, no oil drips on top of the engine.
Maybe this helped some of you who have been fussing with putting the stick back under that tower brace, and maybe some others are like “No Shit”…lol. But if it helped one person, it was worth the time typing.
