My guess is this comes the next generation. Ford has talked about how mustang's best days are ahead, and how they plan on doubling down on it just as others are leaving the sports coupe segment. This, paired with Ford CEO Jim Farley who's a race car driver himself talking about how he wanted to make the mustang lighter, those are all promising signs in terms of the next mustang being even better.
I really deeply hope this pans out to be true. I love my Dark Horse and tracking it brings me so many more smiles than my old Miata did. With that said she's a heavy, heavy horse, and understeers big time. I dream about what this car would be like with 500 less pounds in it.
