I just had 2 subs installed in the trunk, whenever I have music on or off it doesn’t matter I’ve tested both ways. If I’m at low RPMs like accelerating from a fresh green light my subwoofers seem to start emitting bass, even if I have no music playing and it only happens when I initially accelerate I think it has something do with how our exhaust is fed through the sound system? So my subwoofer picks up the deep grumble frequencies and starts rumbling. I was wondering if I can turn off the exhaust sound being linked to the sound system in the car

Could be a poor ground to the amp. From my understanding Ford is not pumping exhaust sound through the system on the 24's. No fake exhaust noise in mine

I checked on Reddit and other people have a similar problem to mine

Apparently there are microphones

So it’s not fake noise but it is coming through our speakers

24 GT has mics for voice recognition, though not in the rear headliner like past models. Has to be a wiring or ground issue. Wired a Sub amped in my trunk and no noise or rumble at all.

weird, I’ll mention it to my installer then. I’m getting a dashcam installed by them next week anyways. Hopefully they can fix this 👍 thanks for the confirmation I just wasn’t sure what’s up with it

It’s really strange, when I put on quiet mode exhaust the issue goes away it seems related to exhaust in some way, when on track mode it’s very noticeable, on quiet it all but goes away.

Sit in the back seat, pull down the rear of the headliner (it’s magnetic)

disconnect the plug up there (there is only the one)
It’s ANC anti noise canceling. It will solve 99% of the problem if not 100%

I own a 2024 Eco-Boost and no sound piped in either. Heck, the rumble from the exhaust and sucking noise from the intake more than satisfies my cravings (if you can call them that?).

By the way, the comment about poor grounding is correct, but I'll add this. Quite often in a mobile situation, the real cause is a ground loop. You might want to read this (http://www.k0bg.com/wiring.html). While meant for amateur radio installations, it nonetheless applies with sound systems.

The basic cause is a voltage differential between one grounding point and another. Doesn't seem possible at first glance, but it is the exact reason automobile manufacturers use common grounding point for each of the sub systems. For example, the wheel speed sensors are used to as input for the traction control, stability control, speedometer, etc., and they use a grounding point. Should be evident that a differential between sensors would become a critical issue if it occurred.

So wait guys, distill this down to simple terms for me.

Are you saying that Ford is intentionally piping GT exhaust sound through the radio speakers? Or just that some electro-mechanical quirk in the speakers is passively picking up those frequencies and putting them into the cabin, even when the radio is off?

I have some kind of sub woofer "boomy" **** going on (no audio of any type turned on) when I back out of my drive way. Haven't noticed it anywhere else or at any time when going foreward.
Will check out Q's tip on the rear headliner ANC plug.

@Kashy ..... the exhaust vibration through the floor of the trunk is quite strong. I had a cup of coffee in the trunk after start up and before the revs had dropped to idle and I noticed big ripples on the surface of the coffee cup. Could the sub(s) be activated by sympathetic vibrations from the exhaust - particularly under spirited acceleration?

The Mustang is a sports car!

My 2019 Ranger, even with the Borla-made, Ford Supplied, exhaust system is quieter than my stock 2024 Mustang Eco-Boost. The Ranger is in fact less noisy overall, rides better, and as modified, darn near as fast!
