The direct mount 2A version is installed on many of my vehicles. That way, no matter where you are, all you need is a standard electric cord to charge - no need to have the charger portion with you (it's installed on the vehicle). And 2A is plenty for maintaining and half the price.

The Gen.5 also came with a mount to install the charger on the car. Where did you Mount yours?

Since I want a permanent mount hidden as much as possible, can I just use the two terminals on the battery under the battery cover and hide the wires? Any pictures of this install?

I did a alot of reading before installing this tender. Lots. There is a Battery Control Module cross connect at the Battery. The BCM monitors the Battery and by hooking up at that location you will bypass the BCM from what I read. I'm not sure what exactly that will do to the system. As you probably know the way I hooked it up is also how you jump the car if the battery is dead per the manual.

My GT had 23 miles on it when I picked it up 6 weeks ago. It was built in April 2024 and took a while to be delivered. Then it sat another 10 days in my garage due to a warranty issue. Now that I can drive it, I wanted to make sure the battery was fully charged. These cars have so many electronics in them that can draw the battery down. I'm retired so the car will not get driven enough to keep the battery in good health. After 3 hours the battery is now fully charged.

Did you wire your 2a the same or straight onto the terminals?

After I read thru other posts it appears as though mounting Tender directly to the battery posts isn't a great idea since it might interfere with the Battery Control Module. I guess I'll use the fuse box positive and the ground post negative on the shock tower. I hope I can make it look neat. Thanks!

To clean this install up I installed some 1/4" flame proof auto wire conduit made by DORMAN. Now it all blends in. I also noticed the charger is now full green after 6 hours.

To secure the end I drilled a very small hole in the hard plastic edge trim and inserted a super small zip tie into it. Then pushed the plastic trim piece back into place and tightened the zip tie into the auto conduit. Now when the hood is open it still looks stock.

Like the way you used the wire conduit on the X-Connect Eyelet Terminal Connector

I did the same with these parts from NOCO
Amazon.com: NOCO GC002 X-Connect M6 Eyelet Terminal Accessory Genius Smart Battery Chargers : Automotive
Amazon.com: NOCO GC004 X-Connect 10-Foot Extension Cable Accessory Genius Smart Battery Chargers
Amazon.com: NOCO GENIUS10, 10A Smart Car Battery Charger, 6V and 12V Automotive Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger, Float Charger and Desulfator for Motorcycle, ATV, Lithium and Deep Cycle Batteries: Automotive

with the longer extension I plan on shutting the hood and run the wire down to the floor and plug into the gen10 so I can put my Ford performance indoor cover on my gt/cs pp mustang

With my set up I made sure the hood would shut and the NOCO Gen 5 tender would sit on the floor.

The 2A version is 20 bucks less expensive from what I see:
