How to use FORScan

I hope this is the correct forum.
As the subject says, how do I use FORScan?
I'm assuming I need to purchase an OBD II Link Adapter such as the https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-ex/?ref=forscan
Then I need to download the latest version of FORScan and install it on my Windows 10 laptop.
I'm also assuming I need to find the OBD II socket under the dash and connect the link cable to my Laptop. After that, I have no clue.
I also understand that FORScan does not [yet] support Ford MY 2024 vehicles. I assume this means that it doesn't "fully" support these vehicles.
What's next?

Here's a list of officially supported adapters. The EX will work fine, but Iike the MX+ because it's wireless and can be used for far more than just programming, including monitoring PIDs while driving (tablet/mobile app).

If all you'll ever do is edit some values to enable/disable a few things, then the EX is cool. Personally, I like the wireless version, but it's more cash.

did you connect to the car ?

you plug in the obd2 adapter to the car and the computer
key on, engine off
open Forscan
click the connect icon in the bottom left

what happens?

This has been resolved for m, I was on an old version of forscan, once you download the newest one from the website then it should be fixed. Also sorry to those who had responded to me, I never got a notification to your responses.

I do have a question about Forscan.

is this something that, like a tune, the dealer will be able to tell that I used it and could potentially deny a warranty claim over, or is it impossible to tell if I needed to bring the vehicle back in for a warranty service?

Oh, they can tell. Technically, they can only deny a warranty claim if they can directly tie the failure of the warranted part to your modification. But there is a lot of gray area where they can make it difficult if they so choose.

And I say that- but my son is a certified tech for a Ford dealer so I can probably have his store work on it with a little more “forgiveness”…
