Ouch! I hope my mileage improves...

Hey gang! New to Mustang, new to this forum. One week into my new GT 301A PP manual. Love my new ride, but wondering if my gas mileage will improve. Driving easy through the suburbs, have not pushed it at all, usually 3rd gear around town. I've almost finished my second full tank, and I'm getting 11.6 mpg. That's about 190 miles out of a tank. Ford does say "your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics" during the first 1000 miles, so I'm hoping dismal mileage is one of them!

What RPM range do you generally stay between? I am above 2000 RPM at all times aside from stop(ping). And generally, shift by 3500 in 'typical' suburban driving. Inner city stop and go, is very bad for efficiency even in a Mini.

Generally between 2-3K. I try to avoid slogging the engine. Usually shift around 3K, but occasionally let it wind out to 4K-5K, but not under load.

im averaging 13.6mpg with 4800 miles and very spirited driving (A10)

I average 26mpg in my manual but most of my driving is highway cruising.

I have been averaging about A little over 18 calculated in my Darkhorse. I have found the computer to be a little optimistic, it usually says about 1 to 1.5 miles higher.

Have about 1,300 miles & getting 16.5 mostly city driving. Sure, it will improve as long as I can keep my foot off the accelerator.

Doing mostly city I'm averaging 11.2MPG, I am getting about 190 miles out of a tank of 93. I am sure I could get better with highway miles and less spirited driving, it's just too fun and AE sounds too good at higher RPM's Above 4000 rpm's seems where the Coyote really opens up. Of course I didn't order this car for fuel economy, have others for that.

And I didn't baby this thing from the start. I went easy for maybe first 100 miles just to get a feel for the car, let the juices circulate a bit, it's been full force ever since. If Ford didn't build this thing ready to play then that's what the warranty is for

5600 Miles, average 16.5-18 in town driving, stop and go stuff and the best I've got was 23.2mpg highway on a road trip a few weeks back. GT A10.

Unless trip 2 has been reset it may show lifetime average as calculated by the system which may possibly be considered a common method/denominator for comparison purposes.

for example my trip 1 hasn’t been reset.
