All four is the way to go...I'm a huge supporter of Blizzaks but am trying the Michelin X-ICE this year due to pricing and availability.

Thanks for the feedback! That is a good experience. I've never been overly concerned with tread life as long as they get me through the season safely and in control. Never been stuck, and they've regularly seen a foot+ of snow across Maine and NY.
Mustang likely won't get quite the same amount of tread life out of them, though I did take them on a road trip to Tennessee and burned them up on the tail of the dragon three years ago, and they held up to a degree far beyond what I had ever expected from them. Good tires

Hi there, used Blizzaks last winter no issues on the snow. I daily drive my 24 GT and I’m Colorado resident aswellWould I be dumb to throw on a pair of really nice winter tires in the rear as this will be my only mode of transportation for the foreseeable future. I live in Colorado for context and I can borrow a car if the snow is deep/bad enough but can’t always use it.
You mean 2 pairs or 4 tires.If they worked for you then I’ll be good. Im looking at a pair right now.
100% agree. Best snow tires i ever owned. probably never buy anything else. I can only imagine the traction with the studs as mine did not and they wete still incredible.If you have access to them in your area, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 Studded. Extremely popular in Canada as they are a Nordic Winter Tire meaning they are designed in Finland for harsh European winters, which usually trounce what you'll see in a tire designed for US or Western European winters. There are a couple YouTube videos out there doing comparisons if you're interested.
They are currently what I run on my 2024, as I drive it year-round in Northern Alberta through feet of snow and on roads more akin to skating rinks. I've also had older versions like the Hakkapeliitta 8 Studded on previous FWD and AWD sports cars and hot hatches, as well as their Hakkapeliitta LT3 Studded on a couple of 2WD pickup trucks.
They are all I run in winter if I am needing to buy tires brand new and for good reason, they have NEVER let me down. Stay away from their all-season and all-terrain tires though, I've had issues with them being impossible to balance and wearing out prematurely, they definitely don't put nearly as much effort into their non-winter tires.
(Edit): And yes, you would be dumb to put them just on the rear, these cars already have issues with nose push and understeer in corners on a nice summer's day. Buck up and spend the extra cash on a set of 4 or put the car away for winter and buy a beater. Good way to get yourself or someone else killed.
I had the X-Ice Snows on my S550. IDK if it was because I had them on PP1 wheels with 255s up front and 275s in the back but they were very squirrely on dry highways. Constantly wandering everywhere in the lane and felt like I was driving a boat, alignment was good. Not as good in the snow as my old Blizzak LM32s, but those were 255 all around. I had my heart set on Pilot Alpin 5 but can't get em anywhere. Went with Blizzak 6 this year and they're almost as stable and confident in the dry as my Pilot Sport 4Ss, but I'm also running 275 width on all 4 tires so too many variables to say for sure. How are the blizzaks at higher speeds like 75-90 I drive the toll highway here often and those are my averages speeds on it
I appreciate the info. These are what I have been mainly looking intoSo far the Blizzak 6s are real nice on the highway. In sport mode I dropped from 6th to 4th at about 70mph and gave it like 80% throttle to escape an uppity tailgater. Don't know how fast I got but didn't feel any loss of traction or squirming, it was around 40F that day. They're a little noisier than my PS4S but that's to be expected with the tread design. Quick lane changes at speed like avoiding something in the road feel solid and confident. Looks like the sizes typical for our cars have a W speed rating good for 168mph.
