Maybe it's my wipers, but I only have 4,000 miles and have owned my Mustang for 6 months. When it rains the blur is so bad I can't see out of my windshield after it wipes. I thought maybe there was oil on the windshield so purchased and used one of those clay bar cleaners on the windshield and it did nothing. Is it my wiper? I can't imagine them being so dirty when my Mustang is garaged and practically still new.
A couple of things to consider -

1. How clean is the interior side of the glass? With new cars, as the interior off-gasses, it leaves a film on the glass. It can take many months for this to stop happening, so frequent interior glass cleaning will be required.

2. When attempting to remove this film, you may need to clean each section twice, the second pass with fresh towels to prevent transferring the residue from window to window, or putting back what you tried to remove on the first pass. Use an IPA-based cleaner such as Stoner Invisible Glass with waffle weave or glass-specific towel. Do bother with newspaper, that hasn't worked since the 80's.

3. If you still have the issue after using a clay bar and cleaned the interior side, then you will need to polish the glass. You can do this by hand or machine, of which I would recommend P&S Clarity Creme.

4. From here, apply a glass coating or rain repellant. I like Gyeon Quick View. You could also use a clean & protect type glass cleaner, of which Optimum and Stoner's I've found to be very easy to use, P&S Reflect is also a good option.

$1.50 is a less expensive ‘try’ when attempting multiple methods at the end of the ‘hey, this didn’t work, what should i try path’ although your mention of the interior side of the glass and off gassing is spot on.

The quick acceleration of my GT frequently makes me off gas; I find keeping a window cracked helps to keep the film build up down. 😉

PS: Always wondered what caused the film build up on the inside windshield as I haven't smoked and I won't let anyone smoke in my cars. TY!

Just to follow up on my earlier post, do not forget to have your wiper arm tension checked before spending money on blades. I still have my original blades on the car with 16,000 miles and they still work fine. I do not do a lot of driving in the rain but when I do they still work.
I’ve had my ‘24 GT for 15 mos & nearly 18K miles. No garage, a fair amount of rain driving, but the blades are still doing their job well. Just lucky maybe.

Same, I'm still on the original wipers and I use RainX once a month and use plain auto glass cleaner once a week depending on how bad the bug splat gets and the water just rolls off when it rains.

I clean the interior glass with a Dawn dish soap solution when ever the inside glass starts getting hazy.

Cleaning the back glass can be a back breaker.

I use IPA on the screen after clay barring, it gets any resdue off.
West Coast or Hazy?
I would say that wasting beer to clean your windshield is NOT a wise thing to do.

But I consider IPA just a step above windshield washer fluid, so that's probably OK ...

Seriously, the world best best glass cleaner is Hope's Perfect Glass (can order on Amazon, spray bottle and larger refill bottle). The wife swears by it and nothing I have found comes close.
