If you aren't using a factory or high speed data cable it won't work.

Now please explain why you aren't using the wireless connection.
Seems like wireless sucks down the phone battery quickly. Maybe it's just my phone (?).

Not to mention, wireless app projection between Sync and both Android and Apple phones is terrible. I only used a wired connection to prevent it from messing up all the time.

That's not normal. Probably an issue with your phone, or maybe your screen needs a reset.

For sure it's Sync. Ford is aware and released an SSM to dealers months ago, and recently a new APIM update was released. A few people have gotten it already and said they noticed an immediate difference. Ford has not released it for me yet, but as soon as they do, I'll be firing up FDRS to install it. The issue plagues all vehicles on Sync 4.

I have both USB and wireless connections set up on the car and phone (S24 Ultra). A notice on the screen tells me to connect the phone via USB. It doesn't connect. Neither USB nor wireless will connect to my phone. I have tried connecting several different cables to the bottom of the two USB connections and got nothing. Ultimately, what I want is to do is be able to play some videos (on file) when the vehicle is parked. Currently, I can connect to YouTube and YouTube Music, but only for audio. That is an excellent option to have. One more thing: the Android Auto just updated with something called "Vanilla.....". Something like that. Bottom line is I cannot connect my Android Audio.....dammit!

Not mine. Never had an issue. Nor have I heard of this.

Mine has also been faultless. A dream compared to the VAG connectivity.
Some quick fixes with AA are; make sure AA is the latest version, clear phone cache on AA and BT, unpair/re-pair your phone, clean the USB ports with an air duster.

@20ducks ..... My car phone is a 2025 Samsung S25 Ultra+ I loaded 1000+ songs onto it from my office hard drive Apple Playlist. When I turn the phone on the Samsung app pops up on the Mustang's LCD screen automatically. I tap the Samsung icon, then can use the steering wheel to select tracks - advance, go back, replay, volume up/down, etc. I can even put the phone in my "glove box" in the tranny tunnel and the car reads it from there. I also have the same playlist on a really old Samsung AO3S - works the same, no issues at all. If you are having issues you can call the Samsung help line, they are usually awesome. BTW I can also use a quality (high speed/bandwidth) cable but why would I? I have driven using the playlist for 5 hours with no unusual drain on the phone's battery. Good luck!
