Who's trying to race you?

i've had Nissans, Teslas, Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and a whole host of other vehicles try to race me. i dont usually humor them, but when i do, its usually in good fun. my favorite was the time i was neck and neck with a Porsche 911 GT3 manual until i let off.

then there's autocross, and thats a whole different game. things like miatas are setting the best times, but im only a second or so off the couple 911 GT3RS' that go there too, even if they are older 2016 models. i dont do full-on track racing, because that goes a bit too far out of my comfort zone, and is where you step into the "oil and diff fluid change after each event" territory from what i've heard

usually, though, im a good-ish egg compared to other AZ drivers. this state is still a wild west at heart, and i've been tailgated then passed by Phoenix Police cruisers doing 15+ over when im doing 10 over (the police here dont care about 10 over or less really, unless you're in Fountain Hills). signal early, be predictable, follow at a distance, that kind of stuff. of course, though, im still young, and the sound of that V8 revving high is really intoxicating. im sure i will mellow out as i get older

lol That's interesting...I was thinking about getting a C7 Z06 but couldn't find a 2019 MT. I don't want anything to do with the earlier ones that have IAT issues. I finally decided on just getting a speced out GT and modding it for boost. People like to kill me for chosing a 750 whp GT over a Z06, but I like having the new car with a MT. I still sometimes wonder if I should have just gotten the Z06.

Why not just get the Z06 and have both? There's nothing wrong with that.

last night had a crotch rocket RIGHT on my bumper. turned to tail me on a winding country road (off a bigger divided 4 lane) so i dropped to second and left him on a couple twisties. he came back in a straight and blew past so i backed off (not ever tailing a bike). we played for a bit and shook hands at the next stop sign. he told me i was in his dream car. i told him i was envious as well cause i don't ride any more. newer Yamaha r6

Why not just get the Z06 and have both? There's nothing wrong with that.

I wish. I already have 80K into the S650 and hoing to build the trans and do a twin disk clutch this winter. Spending another 70k on a toy isn't in the cards lol

My bike was like Christine. Crashed once, and I thought it was a mess. A week later I went to have z look and the forks went back to straight. All I had to do is kick the front tire a few times, and it tracked straight. Changed K&N bars, new exhaust, and tank , fender, and rear fender, plus rear foot mount, and was back on the road no problem . Even caught on fire one. Had to put a new starter, battery, cables and horn. It ran like a champ. Was like a Phoenix reborn out the fires.

Check it out on YouTube. Saleen GTX. They took a Tesla S and tricked it out do it would have sound. Like an F-16. Video is .21 seconds. I'd post it but can't figure out how.

Eeee! Mine slightly looked like that. Crashbars looked like yours. Right fork was bent in. But a week later I got to the HD dealer and seen the forks were straight. Towed it home, took a few ruined parts of, fired it up and went around the block. Made a call to 1-800-FAST-HOG and ordered new painted tanks, front/rear fender, new brake pedal (Chrome-cheaper than original) crash bar, K&N superbar, and Iron Bags. Barely spent 3grand.

Had a nice race this past weekend w/ a Dodge Challenger. Did have dual exhaust, don't know any other details. Thought I was gonna die going around a curve but as I was pulling away I thought I'm not letting up, I'm winning even if I die. Ha, well I did win and I didn't die.

Then some black SUV cut me off, then tried to speed up so I couldn't pass. Dropped it in 3rd and left whatever that SUV was in the dust. (looked over at the wife and she didn't have a happy look on her face after I did that).

i got busted by the wife as well (who is the one that will not let me ride any more). she overheard my storytelling with my brother over the phone. i feel ya... but if i was on that r6 i might be dead now...

I know better to act crazy on my bike if with her. She’d never ride with me again. But yeah. If by myself it’s another story - I know what you mean.
