OP is looking for a'25 not a '26. Can no longer order '25's.
No. He said he can order a 26, but a 25 with pricing and rebate was tempting. I initially missed the part where he said he could order a 26, otherwise I wouldn't have asked, but at no point did he say he was specifically looking for a 25.

Absolutely grab the pp, especially if you are going to be boosting it. If your budget is only 50k maybe look at a used mach 1 with 10-15 k miles. Otherwise try searching nationwide as you may have to travel 500-1000 miles to get the exact car you want. Also the active exhaust is really nice if need its features, if you dont its cheaper getting the regular exhaust and buying an after market catback.

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Appreciate the feedback. The dual screens don’t bother me quite honestly…

sure the single screen is nicer- but I don’t think it’s $4-5k nicer on the 25’s and $6k nicer on the 26’s.

Thanks for your thoughts
Little research on car gurus and found this:

Perf Pkg for $8k off.

Been through this stuff a hundred times- I’m going to tell you different.

With you being D-plan (I have been A/Z-plan my whole life) your situation plus the rebates makes buying different.

IF and IF you are going to add a blower and Recaros buy a car that already has PP/active exhaust/Recaros already. Doesn’t matter if it is a 301,400,401a car. You are buying a Mustang the second best way possible (I worked for a Ford dealership for 7 years).

Buy the car already set up it is usually cheaper and you are ready to go for mods- BUY ONCE, CRY ONCE.
I totally agree with this comment. Get as much as possible from the factory it will be a lot less of a hassle down the road and also this way you can invest your money where for you it matter most.

I'd be looking for a gently used 2023 or 2024 depending on your preferences.

The 2023 is not a bad car.

The 2024 is a better car than the 25 or 26 just on price alone, add in what Ford took out of the cars to cheapen them up and the 24 is even a better deal.

So this is going to be my first Mustang.

Always been a Camaro guy- my last one being a 2018 Manual 1LE with Recaros.

Should have never sold that car lol…

but I digress.

I need some advice-

I can order a 2026, I have D Plan pricing, but finding a 25 with D plan AND $2650 rebates is super tempting.

My issue is that I am going to add the Ford Motorsport Recaros as well as the Ford Motorsport Supercharger at some point.

My goal was to find a 300A with Active Exhaust and PP, but those seem to not be anywhere in the country.

I have only found a couple 301A configured this way, and a few 400A equipped this way.

the heated/cooled seats are pointless for me as I’m going to add the recaros.

My dealer is having difficulty trading for pretty much anything- and I’m frustrated by how the 26’ has removed options:

300A and 301A had a damn flip mirror. In 2026. WTF. Is this a base Kia?

The 400A no longer comes with the connected curved screen smh…

Long post to say- if I were to just buy a base 300A with Active Exhaust in a 25, add the recaros, am I sacrificing reliability when adding the supercharger as I won’t have the oil cooler and larger radiators?

I was going to add them after the fact, except I’m reading that while they bolt on they cause issues as the tune doesn’t account for them and doesn’t read correctly.

Same for the wheels / tires and rear end gears. I understand I can’t just add them and change the system to adjust for proper operation.

Any advice on what to choose is helpful…

thanks all!

EDIT: I would love to have the Dark Horse. Unfortunately I'm limited to a budget close to $50k on the car for a number of reasons including Wife Acceptance Factor lol … so that’s not an option for me sadly.
Seeing as you want to boost it. I would have suggested the Dark Horse as it has an engine that is built for boost other that that GT with performance package I guess.

I am also annoyed with how basic ford is with some of the "standard" options on the lower tiers. My darkhorse doesn't even have the universal garage opener, or illuminated vanity mirrors, amongst other things.

IF you boost it:
The performance pack rims are kind of a throw away. I have nitto 555G2 305/35/19's on my dark horse and I still can't get traction most of the time. I need an 11" or wider rim for like, 325 or 335s.

Better brakes are nice if you plan on tracking it. if you're just gonna floor it then brake once, regular brakes shouldn't fade, unless you're stopping from 165mph a few times.

Torsen rear diff is mandatory when supercharged. You could get a wavetrac or soemthing else. Wavetrac is $1400+ install.

Swaybars you might be able to pick up from someone used who's upgrading to something even crazier. depends on how much you're pushing it on the street or if you're tracking it.

I will say I also really like my magneride. Thats why I was forced to go darkhorse. B&O, Active exhaust, stronger rods/better cams, and the magneride.

I'm still so pissed ford won't decouple the suspension modes from the drive modes.

Ford isn't the only one. I am coming from a tuned WRX - a '24 tR edition. I have Recaros, sure - but I also have a freaking flip mirror. In a $45K car. A FLIP MIRROR.

Oh, wait - Ford just announced they are putting those back in the Mustang GT for 2026.

The Recaro seats don't seem like a great deal to me. You lose the heating and cooling and if you want to track it you are probably pulling the passenger and back seats anyway. How hard is it to pull the drivers seat too and put in a race seat it's like 4 more bolts. Even if you're tracking it every weekend I still think I'd want the heated and cooled seats for resale.
